I heard about Kuroshio from a TikTok video and the person said so many good things about the Fried Rice that I had to come here and try it. Also being a Foodie, I am always looking for something that is better than usual.
Let’s move to the review now. We ordered starters, main course and dessert as well. So all three things we tried. Honestly the starters were so good specially the Shrimp starter was so amazing that we had high hopes for the main course. Main course was just OK. We didn’t enjoy it a lot, but having said that Fried rice was really really good. The dessert we ordered was Fried Banana and it was too good as well. So in short the Start was good, End was good but middle was just on OK side.
Overall the experience was good, but may be only a one time experience for us.
Gratuity and Tip: They have a mandatory Gratuity on every invoice, please be mindful to add that in your budget. On top of that they ask for Tip on the final bill that really needs some nerve to do :).
Pros:
Great Fried Rice Dessert is awesome Shrimp starter is good Food sizes are nice Good Ambiance Friendly Staff
Cons:
Mandatory gratuity is added for every bill, I never liked nor understood it. Main course is on the OK side. Sushi is also OK.
Food Ratings:
Shrimp Appetizer: 8 / 10 Fried Banana Dessert: 8 / 10 Valentine Sushi: 5 / 10 Scorpion Sushi: 5 / 10
Star Ratings:
Flavor: 7 / 10 - Star Authenticity of Flavor: 7 / 10 - Star Cleanliness: 7 / 10 - Star Service: 6.5 / 10 - No Star Value for Money: 6 / 10 - No Star
Suggestion for owner: Like I always tell to owners, mandatory gratuity is NOT good, it just pisses people off not to come again and asking tip on top of it is cruel, please take a look into that.
Suggestion for customer: They have a mandatory gratuity for every invoice, so keep that amount in mind when planning a visit.
I believe this format best justifies my review, so I will hopefully continue using it for all my...
Read moreWe decided to try this place out and even traveled farther for this option. When we walked in, it was clear that this place is not upscale, so I was hoping for great food and service. They also don't offer a kids menu, not kid friendly. The food here is average sushi, with a good amount of specialty rolls. The tempura was very greasy. We ate the zucchini, but only ate half a piece of the sweet potato The Valentine roll has jalapeno in it, which I personally liked. The spider roll was inedible, it was missing the spicy mayo and cucumber or anything with moisture, so it was literally hard to swallow. The other 3 rolls were good, Sunset California, Blossom and Salmon Avocado. The salad with ginger dressing wasn't very good to me, the one I got had wilted lettuce on top, telling me it sat out for a while. The miso soup was pretty good. Despite the food not being the best, the experience could've been improved by the service, but unfortunately, that also wasn't in the cards this evening. The server didn't seem to care, didn't introduce herself (the bill says Marisol), when she came to take it order, the one time she checked on us after serving the food, she asked how everything was, then started walking away before I could finish my sentence. She returned midway through us still eating just to drop the check off. I had planned on having desserts, but I guess she didn't want us there anymore. A manager never passed by our table to say hello either, which I found odd. I paid the check, still giving a decent 19% tip,...
Read moreRating based on my first experience, which was terrible, and my second experience which was much better.
The first time I went, I told the serve what I like then asked for a recommendation (because the menu is huge). He suggested a roll and explained what it consisted of and told me about all the sauces, it sounded good so I decided to go with it. Food arrives and its topped with roe, which he never mentioned! Yuck! Our server isn't the one who delivered the food and he wasn't anywhere to be found, i was hungry so I decided to just scrape off the roe and try to eat around it. However, I couldn't get it all off and it was grossing me out so I stopped eating. Long story short, when the server finally came by to check on us, I told him I don't like roe and told him he should have mentioned that in his description... All he said was "yeah... I'll make sure to say that next time" No apology or offer to replace my order with something else. I was irritated. Totally wasted my money.
I reluctantly went back again and this time I read each menu description thoroughly, used Google for unfamiliar ingredients and picked my own roll. Which was delicious! (I got the Big Daddy roll)
Bottom line, I learned my lesson about letting someone else make a suggestion and I'm glad I gave this restaurant another try. I'll go back again and probably adjust my rating if I have another...
