Totally disappointed with the recommendations of the front desk staff. Took my 4 kids here…was directed and pushed and rushed into the last minute opportunity to book Prison Break—total hard sell with “a minute to spare before we shut it down”. Paid over $200 for - 7 & 9 year old plus a 12 year old, it was cold & dark—we were split up for over 30 min after being told it would be 15-20 min max. Needless to say, it was scary for my youngest kids, slightly interesting for a few minutes for the older ones and I, but then then just quickly ridiculous and SO RUSHED we had no idea what the premise was. As we had no intro from our guide who was nice but not engaging at all and could have cared less about our experience or success. Totally not into it and did not feel like a “guide”. Half the time we pressed the clue button nothing happened— each time we had to press it multiple times to get a response/“clue”. Escape Room Atlanta—BE HONEST WHEN PARENTS ARE ASKING FOR RECOMMENDATIONS!!! Clearly a major money grab!! They’ll sell you on anything just to get your money which is taking advantage of families, esp with kids as this was not an appropriate choice of rooms given the ages. By the way—kids should not cost the same as adults when their brain isn’t close to being done developing and they can’t possibly think this ridiculously abstract??! False advertising and not appropriate. These 5* reviews across the board do not seem real after our experience. After the hour time was up the “guide”came in, gave us stickers that we “almost escaped” but lost, gave us the rushed versus of the solution to escape and said we “probably would have gotten it if we had 15 more minutes”. Worthless waste of money and not kid appropriate at all, yet was sold to us on the spot—booked in person based on staff suggestion/inaccurate...
Read moreThe escape room experience at The Battery was enjoyable overall, particularly for our family with kids aged 7-12. Our guide was engaging, and we successfully completed the room, which was a great thrill for everyone. However, our positive experience was marred by an unpleasant incident after we left. We received a call from someone at the establishment alleging that our children may have taken one of their props. Despite our assurance and lack of bags to check, the manner in which the accusation was made left us feeling uncomfortable and questioned the professionalism of the establishment. While we assume the prop was eventually found, the interaction has left us hesitant about returning in the future.
🚨UPDATE🚨
Following my previous (originally 2 star) review of the escape room at The Battery, I am thrilled to provide a positive update. The manager Brianna personally reached out after reading about our negative experience and truly went above and beyond to make things right. They offered us another game and treated our family so wonderfully from beginning to end.
This time, we played the Gold Rush room, and wow, what a blast! We had such a great time and managed to solve it with just 3 minutes to spare. The excitement and adrenaline were off the charts!
Really have to continue to give a special shoutout to the Manager, Brianna, who was incredibly sweet and made sure our experience was amazing. Her warmth and attention to detail really made a huge difference. She more than made up for our last experience.
This fantastic experience has completely turned things around for us. We will definitely be back to try and beat the Prison Break game next! Thank you, Brianna and the team, for making our day so special...
Read moreOur squad of 7 did The Playground escape room. I'd like to start with the positives. The room was very cool with good, unique puzzles, alot to do, and a big interactive space. The Escape Game Atlanta does a great job with their puzzles. The location is also very convenient. We went to dinner beforehand and then just walked over to do the escape room. Here are some things I did not like. The fact that the managers think that 12 people is an appropriate amount of players in one room, especially given that the other group of 7 are total strangers. Every other escape room I have been to (I have been to atleast 10) has been a private room where you and your friends can solve the puzzles together. That is a default. You do not have to "buy out the room". The fact that you have to pay extra to have the room to yourselves is, to not mince words, a rip-off. If the managers want to make sure they're getting a fair amount of money per time slot and they insist on adding strangers to slots with fewer people, make the minimum 5 people or something. Our group had 7 people and that was more than enough and we all still would have had fun. With 12 people, atleast 3 or 4 sat around with not much to do. So, on one hand, 12 people was just too much. On the other hand, having half of them being total strangers was a huge bummer. This method of business makes me feel like the managers are only trying to make money and not prioritizing the best experience for players. I really like the location of this place but for $40 per person and STILL not having the room to ourselves, I'd rather go somewhere else. To end on a good note, the game runners were very nice and helpful and the interactions we had with...
