Lidl — Local services in Waldorf

This was my first time at the Lidl in Waldorf. It opened up a few weeks ago and I was so excited to check it out. I'd been to my 1st Lidl in Germany last year and really enjoyed it.

I was not disappointed. Wide aisles, good produce, and the bakery... Oh yes, the bakery. Be sure to check out their specialities that you can't find here in the states, such as their Dutch Stroop waffles. Yum.

In the center of the store you'll find everything from organizers to cat scratching posts to clarinets!

This store is comparable to ALDI. Bring your own bags. The shopping carts are really smooth with wide grips. I have never mentioned the quality of a shopping cart in a grocery store. But just go and you'll see what I mean.

Only knocked a star off because there's no space to pack your groceries. You have to do it right at the checkout, which-if you're getting as many groceries as me-can be a tad inconvenient. I also wish that some vegetable items were not pre-packaged in plastic. Maybe that's just me being picky. But I don't need it. Neither does the planet.

After using the ladies room, I lathered my hands with soap. The water didn't turn on for me to rinse, so I used the drinking fountain just outside the ladies room to rinse. I informed the cashier about the sink in the ladies room not working. He radio'd his manager about the situation and her response was, "that's why we have a big bottle of sanitizer on the floor." My bad for not seeing a sign to use sanitizer to clean my hands (which was t posted anywhere). My first thought was how many women use sanitizer to clean their hands after going number 2 in that bathroom, than shop in a food store? THE FEMALE BATHROOM sink needs to be working properly all the time!!! The manager needs to understand proper work ethics and take care of all patrons health wise. This store needs a healthcare personnel to inspect on a daily basis because this issue is not the first time this happened to me as I've experienced this over a month ago. I would've thought a qualified caring manager would've taken care of this! Apparently health safety is not a priority with leadership...

Friendly staff. Great prices. I visited when they first opened, then kind of forgot about them. Recently stopped by to get some salmon and wow! The price of salmon beat out the surrounding stores! I was able to load up. It was good quality. The store was very welcoming and caused me to spend over $200 shopping for way more things than I had in mind. Prices were amazing on all items across the board. I will be back. I had to remember to go to my car and grab my shopping bags or purchase brown paper bags. They were only like, $0.03 each though. The manager was working the register and he was very informative. I learned about weekly specials and when the trucks deliver. He was campaigning for my return and it worked! I returned and will continue shopping here. I was very impressed with the shelves being wel stocked and the produce was super fresh.
