Part 1 (shopping and order placement): Phillip was accommodating and pleasant. I had came in earlier during the week before I had closed on my home to pick my furniture. Phillip assisted me then to give me an estimate on my future order. After I had closed on Nov. 17, I came in the next day to put my order in and added a few things. Phillip once again, got me everything I needed and then some. He gave me heads up that my dinning room table would not be in till early Feb. which was fine because I wasn’t hosting anything any time soon. Anyway, I was in and out within 30mins.
Part 2 of my experience (shipping and delivery): I appreciate Value City for letting me know ahead of time that my headboard was damaged. However, they wouldn’t send me just the frame-thus, I had to keep my old bed. And my new mattress and foundation had to sit in another room because I planned for both to be delivered at the same time. I had also asked if the movers could move my old bed too. But they couldn’t guarantee me on whether they would do it or not. Any who, Andres worked hard into finding me a new replacement, because they had stated a new headboard would not come into their warehouse till mid-Feb. So, they had to search other warehouses to find one sooner and have it shipped. What I didn’t like, was that I had called numerous times to get updates but hardly ever got a return phone call with an update. It wasn’t until I was in the same shopping center (Waldorf) for another errand that I end up getting an update. The store associates were accommodating and pleasant, and told me that my furniture was in, and that it can be delivered on Dec. 27. The movers arrived promptly and actually was going to move my old bed for me but I had already someone there to do that. The movers were in and out within 15 mins with no damage to the furniture nor my walls. So overall, I would have more or less give them 3.5 stars but google does not allow you to do that which is fine. The attitudes of the associates and my shopping experience makes it acceptable to give them 4 out of 5...

Other than him, from management down, the rest of the store has been a disaster to work with. Good luck calling the store… your phone will ring for 3-5mins without answer or you will get “transferred” forgot about for 5 mins, hang up and call back to get immediately answered, as if they are intentionally messing with you. You will be told inaccuracies and different information from each person. It’s a clown show trying to get your issues resolved.
As far as delivery…. Good luck. You will get rushed into limited delivery windows and if you aren’t available, they will sell your furniture out from under you even after allowing you to delay delivery for a week and push you to the back of the pack like a dirty dog. Highly recommend using caution when buying from them, and especially when using cash to pay for furniture you won’t see for two or more months.
The most frustrating part of all is having delivery dates and address confirmed by the store, and making sure you are off to accept delivery, only to be told just a few days before delivery that delivery date is cancelled and you’re pushed back another month. Terrible customer service de-conflicting these obvious frustrations and helping customers who have payed thousands feel like they are not being scammed. Read morePurchased bedroom set was delivered in October minus my mirror because they said that it was broken. Set up a new delivery date delivered the second mirror and it was broken upon them, leaving realized that the bedroom furniture that I had recently received only had one screw in each leg. There are two holes one for each side and yet they only did one they sent out a service person who said that’s the way it’s supposed to be done yet. The desk that I ordered from the same set has two screw screws. Still waiting to hear back after the second delivery of the mirror to see when they may be delivering another one and did I forget to say my furniture was delivered in October. It is now February. I finally have to take myself up to the store to get another delivery of my mirror and have someone come out and put the second screw in the furniture. Service guy shows up the other day doesn’t have my mirror but was supposed to put the screws in the furniture he left upon realizing that he had forgotten the mirror and came back well guess what yet again the mirror is broken. He packed the mirror up and ran out of here Like a bat out of hell still not putting the screws in my furniture. This was three days ago do you think I might’ve heard from someone at this point of an apology anything from the company?
