I stayed at this hotel last week. I was in Dublin for training for a new job. I chose this particular hotel for a couple of reasons, first being the location, it's directly across the street from my office. 2nd, I've always trusted and had good experiences with Hilton brand. Until now that is. Check in was easy enough (but I didn't get my cookie 😪) My room was top floor, back side of the building. It would have been nice if the desk clerks would have told me how to find it or that there was a MUCH closer elevator in the back door. As I was clearly struggling with my bags/luggage the desk clerks watched me drop items, spill my water, and never offered a hand. My room was nice enough, appeared clean, had a keurig and a microwave that I was completely unaware of until my 3rd day. For the first 2 days I had to listen to the toilet running constantly until it quit working completely. The bathroom itself was very nice, glass shower doors, big vanity but a little awkward between the toilet, bathroom door, and shower. There's no exhaust fan in the bathroom or if there was mine never worked. The shower is spacious with big glass sliding doors. But the shower door would not stay shut, continuously sliding open regardless of which door one slid. I notified the front desk about it when I called them about the broken toilet. The door would slowly, quietly slide open. I took 3 showers in 5 days. The 1st was uneventful, I held the shower door shut with a free hand or my foot. Not ideal but whatever. Thursday morning however, was a nightmare. As I was showering before work, I slipped and I lost my balance. It would have been fine except when I reached out to catch myself I fell OUT of the shower because the dam shower door had slid open!!! I barely missed hitting the vanity with my head!! I landed with my full weight onto my right shoulder, upper arm. I cannot EVEN begin to state how badly it hurts. I laid on that bathroom floor, shower spraying everywhere for what felt like forever. I was afraid to move because I didn't know what was hurt or broken. When I was finally able to get up and out of the bathroom, I found that my right arm is really hurt -I and I'm right handed- it was/ is excruciating. I ended up 5 minutes late for work because of it. I notified the front desk when I got back to hotel after work. The response was not what I expected. The desk clerk just looked at me and said "oh sorry, so do you want maintenance or something?" She barely made/kept eye contact, never asked if I was ok or if I was hurt. When I told her about my fall, my injury, and AGAIN about that shower door. She responded with "oh that sucks" Zero concern for this customers well-being. On to Friday. I had zero intention of getting in that death trap of a shower again but as a 51 year old woman who has night sweats/hot flashes, I had too. I thought it had been fixed because the toilet had been. Or so I thought. I get in the shower, and am washing my hair, trembling like a leaf because Im nervous in it now. Damned if I didn't start to fall again! Put my hands out, one on the shower wall amd one where the shower door SHOULD HAVE BEEN!!! This time I did manage not to go completely to the floor but stumble, which was not pleasant. I reported all of this again when I checked out. This clerk gave me the nervous giggle and said "sorry" I am very disappointed in the lack of concern or care for my experience. I am 3 weeks into a brand new job. Two days of my training were adversely affected by getting hurt and just the trauma of lying on that floor alone, hurt, and scared to death. I stayed here for 5 days. Never saw a housekeeper, was never told or offered instruction on if I needed housekeeping services, fresh sheets, towels, nothing. I saw others leaving their trash cans, bags of trash, food containers, and dirty linens outside thier room doors in the hall. Yuk! How unsanitary is that! I rarely leave reviews. But this entire experience at Doubletree in Dublin was so disappointing and just awful. It will be the last time I stay at a...
Read moreWe checked in and the computers weren’t working to capture my CC info - the manager said not a big deal because it’s just used to make sure people aren’t trying to get a free stay. He checked our reservation multiple times so should have been very aware of our rate AND the prepaid breakfast. See below why this detail is important.
Got to our room and there was no hand soap and were told “housekeeping ran out” but we could use body wash if we came to the front desk to pick up since there was no one else working,
Went to take a shower and discovered dead flies washed into the bath mat. Again had to exchange at the front desk ourselves and were told “ew” and handed a new bathmat with no apology,
The drain in the shower wouldn’t open leaving standing water. When I called to request maintenance I was told “I was probably doing it wrong and to try again.” At this point I pressed for a new room. Manager said he wasn’t sure he could do that, I pressed again and they moved us to 320.
Had to go down to the front desk- again - get new keys and opened the door to find dead flies covering the desk. Took a picture and immediately left the room and returned to the front desk. Told the manager and he (Scottie) said “dead flies??” To which I showed him the picture and he said “are you sure those are flies?” I requested a third new room. Scottie moved us to 303 and then said “someone is about to get cussed out because that reflects poorly on me.” NO hotel manager should be speaking to guests in that manner.
Scottie then offered us “free” breakfast in the morning. Adding insult to injury because we had already PREPAID for breakfast with our reservation- which Scottie SHOULD HAVE known had he paid any attention to our reservation at check-in.
Got to new room and found no bath mat or washcloths. Didn’t even bother to call to the front desk as I wasn’t making a fourth trip down to retrieve items that should have been in my room.
In the morning when I went to speak to the manager about our issues he (Radha) repeatedly told me “we will compensate you for your room, ma’am TRUST US, we will take care of you.” To which I get an email with our BILL later that day and it was deducted $40 TOTAL for our stay.
How embarrassing for your entire brand. Absolutely embarrassing and I will be sharing this experience across multiple trip sites to be sure no one else is fooled into thinking this will be a CLEAN, organized, professional establishment based on website pictures - which is exactly why I fell for booking at this location in the...
Read moreMy daughter and I stayed at the Doubletree in Dublin on Friday February 25th because we were looking for apartments for my daughter since she will be moving to the area soon. We had to get to bed at a decent hour because Saturday was going to be a loud day. We stayed in room 402 I believe so if you look outside our window to the bottom left was the swimming pool which there were a lot of kids swimming and having fun. We went out for dinner and came back to the hotel and we were ready to settle down for the evening and we could here the kids playing in the pool, but then, we were hearing a group of girls towards pool chanting and shouting and this went on for awhile and it was close to 8:00 or about there after I thought it was way too loud, I raised 3 children of my own so I’m all for kids having fun but this was ridiculous so I called and I believe I talked to a Jason or Jeremy and he put me on a brief hold and I believe the manager answered and if I’m not mistaken I believe I saw him earlier and he has salt and pepper hair maybe more salt but anyway, I’m not sure he introduced himself but he asked how he could help me and I told him about the loud noise and I told him if he wanted to listen he could probably hear it from the phone and I said, “I understand that it’s kids playing in the pool but that it was so loud we wouldn’t be able to go to sleep”. The Manager said,” well, the pool closes at 10:00”. I said,” well I can’t wait for two hours for the kids to stop chanting”. I said,” there’s a difference between kids having fun and kids chanting and yelling”. He said,” I’ll see what I can do. Then about 20 minutes later our phone began ringing and my daughter picked it up twice and there was no one there so we just unplugged the phone. There was water all over the floor in the elevator and then our door outside the balcony was directly down towards the eating area and there were a lot of very loud guests. I guess I’m from the old school that my generation could laugh and have fun but you should be respectful of other people. The manager didn’t handle this in a decent manner as far as I’m concerned. Never again will I stay at a Doubletree. It’s a shame, we stayed at one in downtown Columbus years ago and it was wonderful. Plus the bed was...
