The staff was super friendly, unfortunately that doesn’t make up for condition of the room. Between the trash that was left behind the microwave and under the couch to the hairs on the counter in the bathroom and toenail clippings on the floor. There was hair bands on the floor making it OBVIOUS this place wasn’t vacuumed prior to my arrival. I’ve stayed in MANY hotels across the country due to my line of work and this place was probably one of the least maintained. The fitness area and bar area was nice, but that’s isn’t where I was sleeping. The toilet paper holder is under the sink and almost behind the toilet, it couldn’t be in a more terrible spot. Another thing, the lady working at the griddle making the omelettes seemed very disheveled. She asked me if I wanted bacon 10-12 times each morning, nothing against her, but she seemed like a regular person with no cooking credentials. Maybe ask for housekeeping to come through as soon as you get there.

This is an extremely nice hotel. I went for a few days on a business trip. I stayed in a double bed suite. The doors are a beautiful solid wood, and open into the living/dining area. Between there and the bedroom is a kitchen sink, microwave, coffee pot and mini fridge area. The bathroom just off of that. The bedroom has a standing closet office desk and two king beds. The conference room we were in for our meetings was plenty spacious with a large projector screen and rows of seating. Breakfast is an open walk in buffet with fruits, bacon, biscuits and gravy cereal and hot cereals. There's even an open order area to have an omelet made. You shouldn't skip that, I chose the spinach and mushroom omelet, delicious, so much so I had to try and make one when I got home. This hotel is very close to tons of attractions and activity centers, there is plenty to do in the area.

Let me first start this review by saying the reason for our stay was unexpected and unplanned. We left Indiana on Father's Day to go to The Columbus Zoo, I use to volunteer there and the family wanted to see the new exhibit that was suppose to be opening from our previous visit two years before this. On our way to the zoo our car started making a loud noise but we finally made it to the zoo. After the zoo we decided that we were just going to spend the night there and take the car in for repairs and hopefully leave the next day. This one day getaway ended up being a five day getaway, which was nice but hard as we weren't able to do anything as we didn't have a car. We ended up staying at the Home 2 next door that night and when we woke up ate breakfast and took the car in for repairs. After the shop did some work on the car they explained there were other things that needed to be done and they would have to order the parts and it would take 2 or 3 days to receive the parts. I was exploring the Hilton app and found this hotel resonably priced so I booked a room. I proceeded to call the hotel to see what time we could check in as we had already checked out of the hotel from the night before and had no where to go. She asked me what time I thought we would be there, I found out later that her name was CJ, and I told her around 11am as it was almost 9:30 now and we had to run to a near by Walmart to purchase clothes for six people as we didn't bring any because we weren't expecting to have to stay in Dublin and she said that would be fine. After shopping I ended up calling her again and seeing if she had a room we could check into now, it's now 10am, as we finished our shopping earlier than I expected and she said sure no problem and didn't even charge us for the early check in which was greatly appreciated. We only purchased one set of clothes each and a set of sleep clothes each so after a couple of days of wearing the same clothes I was trying to find somewhere to wash clothes at and their guest laundry room was out of order so I asked at the desk if there was a laundry mat near by and she told me no. I then asked if they had a sister property that would let us use there facilities and she said sometimes the Home 2 next door would let guests from there come and wash clothes so my wife and I walked over there to ask. When we arrived at Home 2 we found out that CJ had already called over there for us and explained our situation to them and they said that we could use theirs. CJ then tried to call me but I left my phone up in the room so I didn't get her call. We got to be known around the two hotels as the family who's car broke down. Breakfast their was excellent and the pool and hot tub were very relaxing. This will become our go to hotel when we come to the area which my wife and I usually come to the area for the Ohio Cup which my Vintage Baseball Team The Deep River Grinders come to every year and we try to make it every time. ||The not so good.||Our first night at this hotel we went down for the evening reception and to order dinner from the restaurant. The bartender was running around like a chicken with his head cut off and went past us a few times before he asked us if he could get us a drink. We ordered our drinks and after serving them to us he walked away and started cleaning tables from the reception and went back into the kitchen to get other guests food. He could see us standing there but never bothered to ask if he could help us so I finally interupted him and asked him if this is where we order food and he finally asked what we wanted. We finally got our food about a half hour later and went up to our room to eat. When I looked at the bill I noticed they had added a 20% gratuity to the bill, which I hadn't planned on giving him anything because of this service he didn't provide but I decided to just let it go and I won't eat there again.||The second minor issue we had was every time someone went to go number 2 in our toilet it would have to be plunged. It didn't matter how much or how little. They would send a maintenance person to plunge the toilet but when you tried to explain to them that it keeps happening and they have to keep coming back to plunge it and I thought that there was something else wrong with the pipes besides being clogged but unfortunately none of the maintenance workers there speak English so they all had to use google translate and they weren't understanding what I was trying to tell them.||Other than these two minor issues it was an excellent stay and I can't wait to come back at the end of the month and hopefully see CJ and the rest of the staff again as they were all excellent.||Phillip Vasey||I apologize that it took me so long to write this review but my car saga continued after we left when the transmission went out on my car so I have been without my car for over six weeks now and still waiting for them...

My family and I used to travel quite frequently. I also require a ADA service dog. I've slowed a bit and need a little extra, at times. First, the desk staff were very professional, quick to repsond to needs and polite. That is about where it ended for me. I was there from a Thursday afternoon to Sunday morning. First, near the entry to our room, there was a small piece of trash. I left it there simply as an measure of housekeeping. More later. The room was very clean. I required some ice, but there was no ice bucket. That took two requests to the desk, as they apologized that housekeeping wasn't reacting quickly. We didn't shower that night since we got in late, and after a long hot day on Friday, I took a shower and noticed the shower curtain liner was incapable of snapping completely. Housekeeping overlooked this. With water on the floor, I nearly slipped as the grab bar is in the wrong location. The desk was very prompt in addressing this issue.||Thursday night, sleeping was very good. However, Friday afternoon saw an influx of what i could politely say were people banned from Carnival Cruises. They were loud, obnoxious, leaving trash, and allowing children to run around, babies to cry in the hallway, or they left their doors open, and simply being boisterous after 10 PM. There were tobacco smells and odors or marijuana eminating from some of the rooms nearby. I was near a stairwell, and could smell cigarette smoke in my room. In the elevators, I had to keep my service dog under control a little bit more because food was dropped and left overnight without a cleaning.||Regarding the food, I was there for a function that included a banquet. There were many fellow attendees who did not eat the food or left a lot on their plates because the flavors were lacking. Even the mashed potatoes were very salty.||Lastly, I laud Embassy Suites for being a pet-friendly facility. I have an ADA Service Dog (SD) that is required for me and performs specific tasks. There are other classifications of "support dogs" that do not meet the level of training that service dogs require. One requirement of a SD is to be under voice or leash control at all time, they do not bark or lunge at others. These animals are well-behaved. The hotel should be better prepared to require a bit more from others. When I was exiting the elevator with my SD on the left (heel position), another dog suddenly lunged and starting barking loudly at my dog from his left. My SD moved to protect me and himself, but in doing so, my grip on the handle slipped and I fell. I stated to the other owner to "Get control of your dog!" There might have been an expletive. I had seen it prior with an "Emotional Support" vest on. I told her she needs to control her emotional support dog immediately, as it was still barking. She stated it was a SD, but didn't have its vest on. She lied as SDs are trained not to bark, lunge or put other people in jeopardy. Here is where I fault the hotel. I believe they charge a fee for pets. Service Dogs are exempt from such a fee. Without asking the proper ADA questions, the Hotel allowed a dangerous dog in their facility without charging. I know this because my wife, who was a witness to this stated to me, "After you got up, I saw the lady give a housekeeping staff member a $20 bill and told her that her dog was a "service dog." To finish this part, my Service Dog did what he was trained to do. He did not bark at all, was protective of me, and braced himself as a support for me to stand up. ||This is my first time staying at an Embassy Suites in many years. Long ago, I stayed regulary and was very pleased in the rooms and the services they provided. Always clean. I regularly attended work-related seminars at Embassy Suites, not at this one, and the banquet food offerings were very good. I was very disappointed in this stay because of the lack of maintenance, slow housekeeping services, elevators with spilled food and ketchup on the floor, and, what the hotel legally cannot control, is the quality of the "guests" they have.||The front lobby desk staff I give a five rating. But they seem limited on how far they can control other departments. ||The hotel in general I give a 1.5 rating. I do not plan to return to Embassy Suites. I have had better and cleaner services at Super 8.||Lastly, that piece of trash I mentioned in the beginning; Sunday morning upon leaving, it was...

Checking In: Mon Feb 5 Room 1, Days 4, Guests 1 Checking Out: Fri Feb 9

Confirmation: 90887876 Status: Canceled due to issues below

1/29 – 2/2 The good: • clean room and sheets • excellent water pressure • daily reception • salmon dinner was decent • daily refresh

The bad

• Communication – o The manager on Wed, 1/31 was not aware of issues in the hotel. I spoke with the manager on Wednesday regarding fitness center issues below that were reported to maintenance and the front desk on Monday. She said she had no knowledge of them but would follow-up with the GM. I stated I had 5 more weeks to stay here in Dublin and had hoped to stay here again. I asked that she call me to give me an update on the gym equipment to determine if I would stay again. She did not call Thu or Fri or at all. My reservation was canceled on Saturday – 90887876. No future ones will occur. o The manager was also unaware of the credit card issues at the restaurant. One clerk said that is a different system. Though different shouldn’t a hotel with good communication and a competent management staff know about any and all issues within the hotel? o There was no apology from the manager that she didn’t know about these issue or the issues in general.

• Daily refresh did not happen while away from room o 4:30 pm Tue and 5:30 pm Wed o I advised them to just give me extra coffee and cancel Thu

• Fitness center had lots of issues o Water cooler (filtered)  Water leaking on floor Monday. I threw down towels and I notified maintenance, and they turned it off. No water on Monday.  It was fixed the next day and had water Tue and Wed.  Cooler was out of order again on Thursday but at least they put out water bottles o Weight stack had a several issues  broken pulleys on both sides so unable to do certain exercises  Cables were shredding due to defective pulleys  Pulley system missing a bolt to hold cable pull in place  Missing rubber grip on one handle  Maintenance and front desk notified Monday night o Peloton bike  On Wed I told the manager the bike was not activated.  She powered it on and said all you need to do is put in your email and walked away. WRONG – the bike needs to be activated by the hotel. Once activated anyone can use it with their free or paid Peloton account. o Recumbent bike  TV not working on bike  Resistance setting did not work. I adjusted from 1 – 25 with no difference in resistance  Did not notify the staff since nothing would be done anyway o No remote control for TV  Asked manager and another front desk staff person for one  They said no problem and walked away. A remote was not delivered while I worked out nor did it arrive over the next 2 days

• Bar restaurant credit card machine down Monday and Tuesday. o Had to use cash or room charge (which I don’t prefer due to splitting expenses) o Unknown if fixed since I didn’t try after that o Tuesday bartender was shocked that I said it was also out on Monday. He was disappointed that this was not resolved nor communicated to him

• Room o Stiff mattress o Fitted sheet didn’t fit mattress. It kept coming off and rolling up into the bed. o Heat not working first day and had to call maintenance. o Sink drain plug did not close. I shaved using running water into a cup o Slow drain in the tub so waded through water during shower

On a side note, I had to call the hotel to get my receipt. I also was not prompted to fill out a survey from the hotel. One would surmise that if surveys are not sent they don’t hear about the countless issues they have and that are...
