As Hilton honors we have spent a lot of time in different hotels. Usually we have a good experience at the Home2suites, but this one was not as great as we expected. We arrived very late and we had to move to another room bc of dirty condition and full of gnats. I have a toddler who constantly plays on the floor with his toys. A clean clean room is essential for us. The staff was nice and they tried to accommodate another room as soon as possible. The second room was better but you could still see stains on the carpet and bathroom walls. We had some gnats but not as much as in the previous room. The staff were nice. Ibad (front desk) was an angel for us. The second day of our stay, the sink was leaking. There was water all over the floor. It was around 9 pm. He gave an option to move to another room, but I declined bc I had everything set up and I wiped all the furniture with Lysol wipes. It was late and we didn't want to do it over again. So right away he came to our room and fixed the leaking. He cleaned all the floor and attended to all our needs quickly. we needed body wash and iron board. He brought it to us quickly. So he was an excellent employee and we were so happy with his disposition to help us that night. We understand that this was not his function, but he was so proactive. Another good service we received was Monica, the housekeeper. We were requesting housekeeping daily bc of the diapers in the room. When they sent Monica she was awesome. One day we arrived and the room was very clean. Then another day, they didn't schedule the housekeeper, even after our request the night before. I didn't want any garbage in the suite bc of the gnats. So they told me to ask the housekeeper to take the garbage. Monica was there and she collected the garbage, she asked me if I would like to vacuum and clean the floor again so my son could be comfortable to play. This was such a plus for me. She read my mind being so proactive and did such a fast and great job. We were so satisfied with her service. The location is great. We walked everyday to the shopping malls around the area. Whole food is across the street. Detroit zoo and Downton Detroit are close...
Read moreWhere do I begin.... I have to day I was absolutely disappointed! I walked into my room after a long drive only to find it dirty. The bed was about the only thing clean. |Upon entry my feet were sticking to the tile floor in entry way and bathroom. There were muddy foot prints on carpet. food crumbs on floor ( Dorito crumbs by couch) the kitchen sink was clogged so when the dishwasher ran water backed up in stink leaving nasty, smelly, food particles in sink. the bathroom floor needed mopped, toilet seat was dirty, tub was dirty, and lastly the dishes in kitchen were dirty coffee stains in cups. basically I went and spent 30 dollars on cleaning supplies when I got back to hotel I spoke to staff and told them the room was dirty explaining above showing pics and they said they would tell housekeeping. I spent the night cleaning the hotel room for my own sanity, In the morning before I left for work i let them know that room was dirty and needed cleaning explaining again the above. Came back from work after 5pm and room had not been touched. So I again (3rd time) went down to desk and requested room to be cleaned and asked for towels as I had used most in my cleaning the previous night. This is a Hilton brand hotel and I have never stayed in one this dirty. I was like someone had a party and they only changed the bed. This is ridiculous I cant believe I had to clean my own Hilton hotel room because staff ineffective at sending house cleaning to my room. While the staff were polite and sorry the room was dirty. Nothing was done. I watched them write my number down but apparently that went no where. I was so let down and disappointed I just wanted to leave. If i wasn't there for work I would have. And to add insult to injury No one there gave a flying flip that the...
Read moreWow! This place has taken a nose dive since my last visit 7 months ago. Everything I touched was dirty, sticky, tacky or streaked with residue. The lobby was absolutely disgusting with food remnants at all hours throughout my three days on the property. Seriously—the lobby seating area looked like a Denny’s after the Sunday church rush—food, stains, crumbs, spilled coffee all over the floor, tables and seating. The hallway to my room stunk like stale vinegar & rotting carpet… a smell so bad it stung my nose & singed my nose hairs… The culprit? Fruit fly traps & a gross dirty drain underneath the ice machine. That same sour sick smell wafted right into my room. Had to use heavy amount of deodorizer. The AC blew stinky mildew air. A mysterious brown smear of a stain on the bathtub wall stares at me as I greet the restroom. There’s no bath mat. And the hairdryer is broken. The bedside table houses a phone that does not work… and is covered in some sticky sauce. The carpet, couch and office chair are riddled with stains. The bed has no bottom plinth & underneath bed is full of lint, crumbs & trash. The kitchenette lacked paper towels and the dishes all had a film. There was no Do Not Disturb sign. The housekeeping staff were dismissive, disheveled and often smelled strongly of cannabis. I will never return to this location after seeing other reviews mentioned BED BUGS. This location has gone so downhill since the beginning of this year. Typically I can depend on Home2 to be a clean & fairly hygienic brand when traveling, but this location is an outlier & serves as the worst Home2 experience I’ve had in the last 5 years of staying in Hiltons across 16 states. I repeat—I will never return to this location. Disgusting lack of cleanliness &...
