Good experience getting my Pixel 3 XL screen repaired here. Filed a claim via my Google Preferred Care policy, paid the deductible online, and selected this location for repair. Did a backup of photos, made sure Android had backed up my settings/call log/messages, then walked in the next day, reset my phone (to allow for the technicians to fully test the device), and left it with them. Had it back in hand in under 2 hours, and it looked just as good as new.
Just a couple of notes for others to consider : first, back up your phone before bringing it in, and if your device uses an SD card for storage, decrypt it, then take it out prior to repairs. Both Android and iOS users should consider trying Google Photos (app) + Google Drive for photo backup.
Second: do another factory reset on your device after it's given back to you. My phone was given back to me without any Google account associated to the device, but was already past the initial setup wizard, with stock apps usable. This is the only reason I'm docking a star on this review. Getting a phone back that isn't factory wiped, especially when it's an Android device, is super sketchy: it could have anything installed while it is out of your sight. In case any nefarious apps might have been sideloaded while the device was out of my hands, I did a full reset to ensure I had a 100% clean phone before signing back into my Google account. If I was really paranoid, I'd do a full reflash of the ROM on the device myself, but figure in this case it wasn't necessary. I have a feeling the employees didn't do a factory reset before giving me the device back out of ignorance or accident, rather than malicious intent.
Edit: Response from the business makes it clear that whoever is responding doesn't get my point. At the point where a factory reset is required, the store shouldn't be giving the device back with Android already set up. Sure, I could have just signed in with my Google account as soon as I got the phone back, but I also wouldn't have any certainty that some sort of malware, RAT, or other undesirable software wasn't installed. In cases where the device is factory reset upon handoff to the store, the safest thing for both the customer and the store here would be to make it a policy to give the device back in the same condition: waiting at the welcome screen for...
Read moreI don't normally post negative reviews. I really try to be a positive person.
Samsung sent me here because my phone wasn't working after they troubleshot it. Apparently they shouldn't have sent me here. This is frustrating, but obviously not this places fault.
Reason for the negative review: the person was unemphatic, short, and negative. He looked at my phone for less time then it took for it to turn off and turn on before declaring what was wrong with it and saying there is nothing that could be done. I was fairly confused as Samsung stated this is where I could get my phone repaired, but he said that he could install a motherboard but since it could make calls, even thought it was dropping and LTE wasn't working, he wouldn't get anything for it so he didn't want to help. He then stated if I had made an appointment they would have told me that instead of driving all the way there, which I did. Apparently in their records they said they called me despite me not having a call (broken phone) and they didn't think to use the e-mail address that I gave them.
The person was maybe the most negative person I've ever dealt with in a while. I worked retail and in call centers and I understand this job is difficult and customers can be....difficult, but I don't think I have ever been treated this way. I was so dumbfounded I...
Read moreI had my Galaxy S10plus fixed less than 90 days ago. I did not submerge my phone in water but now seem to have visible condensation under my camera lens. It would seem this might be possible if my phone was not repaired properly. I was told it was impossible for a mistake to have been made and it wasn't their fault. They also told me to take it up with Samsung. After 2 phone calls with the manager, John Saab, hung up on and told I could look up the corporate office's phone number. I spoke to the corporate offices. The same script was read to me. They weren't going to do anything because there was moisture damage and they were not responsible for any wrong doing. The Galaxy S10plus has an IP68 rating, for those of you that don't know what that means: it states it is water resistant under lab conditions up to 1.5 meters for up to 30 mins. This being said I never exposed my phone to these conditions. I do not recommend repairs from this business. Seriously...
