I have been a Diamond Privilege member for the last three years due to my extensive work related travel requirements. I exclusively stay at Choice hotels generally Comfort Suites or Inn's and normally look for exceptional ratings. I normally do not complain or write reviews sych as this but feel this one is necessary.
I must say this facility was extremely disappointing for a number of reasons and I will not ever book or stay here when I return to Columbia on future business.
If I would have known some of the events as the night transpired I would have requested a different room.
For starters when I checked into the room I went to put my beverages and items into the refrigerator and found it was turned off and looked like defrosted with about 1/4 inch of water in the bottom, I had to wipe it out and turn it on to get it cold.
I am very familiar with the internet setup in any of their facilities but could not get it to work what so ever. I called down to the desk and was basically referred to their support number which was totally useless. I ended up using my own hotspot on my phone the remainder of the evening.
At this point it was late and went to sleep, when I woke the following morning I found a large bite mark on my thigh which was quite red and about the size of a quarter. I looked through the bed but could not find anything knowing that I did not have the bite when I had laid down. The bite is still present after 3 days and has reduced in size but is still there.
While showing I noticed a bug in the corner of the bathroom which I killed but did not know what it was to identify.
As I was leaving the room and the door closed It didn't seem like it closed only to find that you could open the door without even using the key card. On three attempts even slamming the door closed was I able to open it without a key.
The facility looked worn and compered to other Exceptional facilities I have stayed at did not even come close in comparison.
I'm not sure if corporate ever tours their locations to receive such a rating but travelers beware...
Read moreThe staff shamika was great. She's concerned about people. She has a very good customer service. Presents about herself. Pursuit I had a 911 emergency on Sunday and I extended the room because I have doctors orders to rest. Well, I checked out earlier today and it was someone else on the counter. Some young girl which I've never encountered during my 3 days. Stay there, so I was tidying up the room and everything. And I was gonna leave my deposit for mishamika. And it seems as though I wasn't getting a little slack about this. Well, that's my money and I leave it to who I want to leave it too so the girl. The young girl accused me of smoking in the room now choice rewards know that they can check how many times I've been in long smoking rooms and I've got my money back and this girl because I cleaned up my old purse's you know, throwing trash way she goes in there instead of checking. With the maid and say check the room and see if it's okay. She leaves the front counter goes down to the room. And because she sees a empty pack of torn old cigarettes in the trash. She said I was smoking in the room. Then I don't like them trying to step in the way of me giving my refund money to a staff member when I use God's word to say that The devil is the cuser of the brethren. Then the man is got all upset with me. I'm not the devil. I didn't say he was the devil. I asked him to roll the tape back and see how many times I've been out smoking. They refused to do it. The police was called. I asked the police to have them to roll back. The tapes to see while I was packing my car to check out today. Roll the tape back. They refuse to do it so that just means that they want to keep my money. And they've got some issue with me leaving a tip for the lady who was concerned about me having to go to the hospital. I leave my money to who I want to leave it to. Where the cheap shot way of doing a disabled 60-year-old women with a 911 Emergency call does...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I booked a hotel room on 11/5/2021. The initial transaction of the room was fine. However, the room was dirty. The wall had something all over by the end stand, very visible, the head board had hand marks all over it and the shades on the lamp were very dirty.
Between 12:20-12:30 am we heard a loud knocking on the door saying "management". I answered the door. It was the individual who checked us in. He asked if we were smoking. I told him "no". He asked me if I was sure. I told him yes 110% because neither one of us smoke. He asked if he could come in and check. At this point I was very annoyed it was late and getting accused of something we were not doing is incredibly frustrating. Of course let him and told him I would like a refund after this. But, we also knew we weren't smoking so I told him to come in and check.
The next morning after we left I was looking at my bank account and noticed 2 charges. One for $176.49, the cost of the room and a charge for $250.00. We went back to the hotel. We spoke with another person behind the desk. He printed out a receipt for us to show where the $250.00 was refunded. I was charged for something that was not taking place. Then refunded after the correct room was found. This is unacceptable. If this is how management is taught to handle situations they need to be re-trained.
It is a big deal to have $250.00 taken out of my bank account and not immediately replaced. As of today it is still not there. I am not someone who has the liberty to allow situations like this happen. Now I have to wait 1-3 business for a mistake that should never have happened to be corrected.
We choose Comfort Inn because of the price. We will pay the extra for a well managed and clean hotel, next time. The extra $20 somewhere else would have...
