Depot Park — Attraction in Whitefish

First, we drop off & pick up family members in the dark hours at this station and I have never felt uncomfortable or nervous. I would not mind a few more lights in side parking lots ( could be a city light ordinance, being unable to add more, understandable). The area is clean and well kept, friendly employees at the station & on the trains. Our trips are from WFH to FAR so we are on board a good 21 hours. Whitefish Montana is a very pretty town. It's a tourist trap in Summer and Winter if not all year round. A fun way to come in and out of Whitefish is via Amtrak. This depot has a museum that can give historical background as well as a gateway to Flathead County upon arrival. There is a nice park in front where people pool le can have a picnic and enjoy some local monuments as well. Today the museum was closed in account that it is Sunday. The park is currently blocked off as they are removing old structures. It will be finished soon. Great proximty to downtown Whitefish and it is the site of numerous outdoor events. No child's play ground but it is a quiet area to read a book or eat lunch if you don't want to be indoors. The new gazebo is the venue for concerts. Fun location to...
