If you want an idea of what they serve at breakfast, I can list all of their main choices. Every day I stayed there, these items were always available. They have basic bread options and blueberry/plain bagels, that can be toasted, and cream cheese. There's bananas, oranges, grapes, and apples; they also had sliced fruit such as strawberries and mango. Instead of serving yogurt by the container, they had plain yogurt, alongside granola, strawberries, and mashed mixed berries, so you could flavor it yourself. There were 4 types of cereal, and packets of instant oatmeal. You can make your own (mini) waffles, and I added some of the mixed berries into my batter. They had regular and sugar-free syrup. Pastries were either fruit-filled danishes (handful of flavors) and 2 types of mini-muffins (blueberry/choc. chip). Beverages were coffee, hot water for tea or cocoa, cartons of (chocolate) milk, OJ, and apple juice. There's some variety in the hot breakfast items. Each day included some type of meat (I only saw sausage patties or links) and some kind of egg (scrambled for the most part; one time had cheese omelettes before switching back to scrambled). One day they had biscuits and gravy, but otherwise it was breakfast potatoes. You could add cheese, salsa, or mashed-up avocado to your eggs. They had other condiments like honey and ketchup too. A staff member monitored the breakfast area routinely, so they kept things clean and stocked-up. The main downside is how cramped the space to eat and get your food gets. It hardly has enough room for three people to get food at the same time with how it's oriented. There's complimentary bottled water near the front desk, and it's kept cold, so that's nice.
As far as the rooms, they were decent. There was a microwave and mini-fridge, but both are in the cabinets under the TV stand, so it's harder to access for us taller people. The fridge is also quite small, so it doesn't hold many items. There isn't a ceiling fan, so one person might be freezing by the AC unit, and with the queen bed in the way, it won't reach the other person. Also, unless you sit at the little desk, there's no other furniture in the room to sit or relax.
My biggest concern is from the bathroom. Not having a grab bar by the toilet is alright, since it's in the corner, so you could use the walls if needed. However, the bath tub feels treacherous. Ignoring the lack of a mobile shower-head, there's no grab bar in there to help support yourself, especially when getting out. I find that a problem primarily because the floor sort of has that rough surface for grip, but it's worn smooth over time, and isn't doing much by this point. If you bring your own toiletries (didn't love what they had on offer), there's not much room to put them anywhere in the shower, as there's no shelves to place them. The tub is quite shallow, so I can't imagine who could make use of them besides kids.
For the places we went to in Wichita, the location was handy, putting us near quite a few museums and book stores. The price was reasonable considering that breakfast was included, instead of racking up an extra charge. Everything was clean and in good order. I could see myself staying here again, but might also consider other nearby competitors as a...
Read moreStayed here for one night with my s/o. The cost was apparently $94 when checking in, when the check out bill was $74 (without the taxes was the $65 with the 10% from the app), confused about that as no explanation was given for it. Overall, would stay here again as long as improvements happen.
The hotel was super beautiful and clean when checking in. Had no problem checking in an hour before the actual time. The guy running the receptionist stand is also the General Manager, quite chill but felt unwelcomed? As if he was reading a script. Regardless of that, he was still kind and gave the whole run down about the hotel, room, and anything else. Such as, free coffee, free breakfast from 6am-9am, another door to access the stairs, elevator, and hotel rooms.
The room was really nice! Odd structure that I had to get used to for the night but that did not ruin my experience. The bed was huge - firm and comfortable mattress with good pillows - had thin sheets so be sure to bring a blanket if that bothers you. I liked the bed a lot!
Easy to adjust temperature system, got the room very warm as outside was freezing.
The TV had so much variety of shows and movies, mini fridge inside the table that kept my drinks cold, lots of outlets to plug in my electronics.
The bathroom was alright, would suggest improvement on the toilet and shower. The handle of the toilet looked like it was about to fall off and looked cheap (worked perfectly fine, had no smell too.), the shower is the standard tub with shower head (had no smell, alright water pressure, and toiletries), felt that the floor of the tub was shaky/not sturdy standing on it. Needed to get used to having a door separating the sink from the toilet and shower LOL. The wall had some paint chipped off, not a big deal at all as it wasn't prominent but had to add it on here.
I liked the location - literally next to a Costco with their gas station. Very awesome for someone who has a membership. Few minute drive but there are lots of different places to eat and explore, highly recommend the Yokohama Ramen shop if you ever decide to stay here.
Checking out was a breeze - the lady who was working at the front desk in the early morning was super kind and helpful - remained professional and printed out the information on my stay with the price. Appreciate it so much.
I would give this hotel another chance - I liked it as I felt safe and it was good for the price (confused with the check-in price; however, for that price, it should be a bit better in standards.) I do recommend this, there is still room for improvement and my stay was not as bad as previous reviews have described it - so there have been lots of improvements since then. Thank you for the good service, clean hotel, clean room, and easy check out with no...
Read moreMade reservation for four nights. The manager informed us upon check in that housekeeping would be the third night, fourth day. We found this odd so I requested daily housekeeping and was advised by the manger that it was not an option and it was clear it was not open for discussion. I asked about fresh towels and he said we could request towels if needed.
There is nothing in the reservation email stating this limit and nothing at the front desk before check in. If we knew about the housekeeping rule, we would not have stayed at this hotel. We had no other option, so we checked in. Once in our room we found the sign on the mirror saying housekeeping would be after the third night, but you could request it more frequently.
Overall, the room was found to be in okay condition. Armchairs for the chair are stained. Bathroom has paint that is flaking off all around the shower/bath. The window frame is broken/cracked. The wall around the window appears to have been poorly repaired. The phones in the room do not work so you have to use your cell phone to call the hotelâs main number.
We requested towels the next day and they were delivered to the room door and placed directly on the floor of the outer hallway. We brought this to the attention of the front desk and we were told housekeeping does not go into rooms when guest are not there (unsure how this will work when they are supposed to clean the room). The staff person also had an attitude when we pointed out the issue with putting towels on a dirty floor and requesting clean towels.
After third night, we expected housekeeping as promised. We returned and the room was not touched. We checked in with the front desk and the person confirmed we should have had housekeeping today and apologized it did not happen. I asked the front desk person about the housekeeping and lack of documentation. He said he thought there was a sign on the door. I pointed out the sign in the mirror and that it said we could request it more frequently. At this point, I was referred to the manager.
Upon check out no one asked about our stay. We decided to share our experience with the manager who had also checked us in. He changed his answer about housekeeping and said we should have been able to get it despite telling us upon check in we could not get it each day. At the end of the conversation he said he would comp our room. We made a point that we did not ask for it to be comped as we already checked out and he agreed and said that was why he...
