I needed a room for myself, but I found this Comfort Inn on Google that had the lowest price per night. It was $67/night for 4 nights for 2 queen beds. I didn't need that 2nd bed, but it was cheaper than the room with 1 king bed. I arrived around midnight on Sunday, but the email confirmation assured me they would hold my room until 7 am the next morning. It's in an area that's under construction, but traffic wasn't too bad. The clerk was very polite, and the room was nice and clean. Not big, but fine for me. The housekeeping staff did forget to replace the shower curtain in my room. But I called the clerk and he took it right up to me. He offered to put it up, but I insisted on doing it myself. No big deal. The bed was very comfortable, the pillows very soft, and the AC was at a good temperature. Usually, it's very humid in the 3 star hotel rooms, so it's either too cold or too hot, or it's fine until it shuts off and it gets humid in the room real quick. Not this room. No humidity. It was cold outside but I had it set to cool but the heater was just too warm even at 65 degrees. 70 degrees on cool was perfect. It wasn't noisy, I had no issues with anyone, the room had a small fridge and a microwave. The TV was a good size but there wasn't much to watch on the channels offered. The wifi worked just fine. The breakfast was decent: cereals, eggs/sausage, oatmeal, and make-your-own waffles. The breakfast sitting area was kind of cramped, the tables too close to each other and not enough tables, so I had to get there at just the right time to eat comfortably. Check in and out was painless; they left the receipt under my door on my check out date, so all I had to do was give the clerk my room key cards. The hotel is close to Kellogg Ave which is the main street in Wichita, so it was quick to get to stores and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.

I stayed in room 210 on 10-12-18 for a soccer tournament as part of a group. We did a cursory check of the room for bed bugs but did not remove the mattress topper which was a mistake. My son woke me up around 11PM and said he had something crawling on his pillow. I found a large bed bug on his pillow and killed it. I immediately had him get out of the bed and we found more along with old dried blood under the mattress topper. We hadn't unpacked our bags yet, so we ran out and went to the front desk. The lady at the front desk, Sharon I believe was very nice and concerned about our issue and immediately started figuring out what to do as they had no other rooms available. She was able to find us a room at another Comfort Inn 7856 E. 36th ST N that had a few overflow rooms. She said she would cancel my fees at her hotel and call the manager Kristen Steichen to do a "walk through" paper so my room at the other place would be comped. I did not hear back from the manager so I called and left a message as I now had charges on my CC for both hotels. I did not hear from Kristen so I called her on Monday to find out the status of my charges. She acknowledged that she was aware of the issue and assured me that the charge from her hotel would be credited back after a few days and she would contact the GM of the other hotel to reverse those charges of $235.99. I called back again today (Thursday 10-18) as the charges are still on my CC, but she had just stepped out. I feel as if having bed bugs crawling on my child is not very concerning to her because I have had to initiate all communication from the start of the problem. This is extremely poor customer service and does not reflect well on Comfort Inn or Choice Hotels. I will continue to call to get this resolved and will be disputing the charges through my CC company as well.

Pool was freezing cold, cloudy and the room air was so very humid and sticky. We adjusted the air with no luck. The bedding and towels all felt damp. Not sure why. Staff was very very nice. Breakfast was not very good. No eggs at all. Hard boiled no scrambled. Butter for pancakes were close to frozen. Biscuits were hockey pucks. Waffles were good. OJ was good

When we got to the hotel, the room was nasty but we didn’t see any signs of bugs so we stayed. We didn’t want to deal with the hassle of finding another hotel. The next morning, we had breakfast which was also less than desirable. Later that day, we came back to the hotel and saw a huge group of people in the lobby. Nobody was working. None of our keycards worked any longer. Apparently, the staff who worked there got upset with the new owners (from what I understand) and everybody quit. For hours, there was not one person working at the hotel. We tried calling the Choice Hotels phone number and they were less than helpful. Nobody could reach the hotel. Nobody could reach the general manager. They told us there was absolutely nothing they could do. I couldn’t believe this since they’re such a large company. We called the police so that we could try to get in our room and they told us to call 911. I had to call 911 three times that day because of the incompetence of this company. Finally, after around 2 or 3 hours of waiting with no employees around, someone finally arrived and we were able to get into our room. We wanted to leave the hotel and not stay another night because of all this and the gentleman said we were not able to cancel our stay for that evening. We were leaving and we would deal with that later. This hotel was disgusting. The rooms were very dirty and smelled, the scrambled eggs at breakfast were somehow all crunchy, and the new owners don’t seem to have any idea about how to run the hotel. Rarely do I ever write a review. Stay away....
