The staff for the most part is lovely. I have been a customer for almost 4 years. This is the only hotel I use now when coming to Wichita. However issues this time with an employee named Sherry were very unsettling. I have had issues with The AC and it's '96 outside. The tv did not work in the suite portion & the guide on the TV has not worked the past 2 times. The maintenance guy attempted to fix & is very nice as is everyone else except this one person. Thought ac was fixed. Left message 2 days ago and message never sent to BoN again. Left message with same person about their omg board ND no messages were given to mgr. Left message with another employee about my troubles and mgr. Called immediately & was kind & professional. The next day issues not working again & left message with same rude who them proceeded to try & check me about the emotional support dog I have beause of my father dying just 10 days earlier. It was unwarranted & she was rude to me in front of about 20 breakfast guests and my 10 year old grandson asked why is she being so mean to me?? I asked her to have mgr call me & she rudely slapped her hand down & said I won't be here as I then advised her to write it down. I asked why was she using that tone. She apparently thought it was okay and I simply told her I am not the one and I would like to speak to mgr. I came back down 15 min later for my other 2 to get breakfast where I see her gossiping with the AC guy. He was apologetic & I advised was not upset with him but she was rude to me and just gossips about other people and I do not have time for that. Was told by another employee several.people complained about that room & also the guide Was not working. Moral of the story is that rude people do not need to be In this industry at all & I am awaiting another call from the manager to get resolved hopefully. Overall hotel is fine & plenty of great people there but 1 bad apple really can spoil the whole bunch.. All this as I am grieving the death of my beloved father & she was being...

The staff is amazing from the time you walk in the door until you leave. I cannot say enough of how accommodating they are. More on that in a bit. First the beds and room were exceptionally comfortable. It had a seating area where you could sit on the sofa and watch TV or just relax without being on the bed immediately.

We took this time while stopped to lighten the carry in bag. Unfortunately by doing so I forgot I laid out my clothes on the sofa and the next morning couldn't find what I had laid out because I was looking in my carry in bag. So I thought I just put them in the other bag and put on different clothes. When we arrived home, I called the motel. The person at the front desk the night before said he couldn't do anything about it to call back. Called back the next morning and had a very pleasant and accommodating girl that said she'd look and talk with housekeeping. She called back and said they were there! They were going to mail them to me. I thought awesome, what a difference from one person who would go above and beyond to find my clothes.

I received the box today. I pulled out my black pants and put them in the laundry bag, and a few minutes later my husband said you still have something else in the box. I said I do???? So when I looked in the box I almost cried. I had forgotten all about my T-shirt that I had laid out and to find that in the box was amazing because I didn't miss it until I saw it. It was a (sorry to say this on a Kansas Inn - no I'm really not) ;) Anyway it was my Green Bay Packers Jordy T-shirt. My favorite - so I would have noticed at some point, but I was extremely happy that they sent both items to me! The staff members that did this for me should be so acknowledged but I'm sorry I don't have their names.

Now to the comfortable beds. They were the best. Comfort, and a good night's sleep was amazing. All my requests were accommodated and it was a very good stay and easy to find off of US400. We would definitely stay...

The General Manager at this hotel Do Not have the Marriott Brand at best interests. It's really sad that Marriott's name is attached to their building, because the GM truly lacks all of Marriott's Hotel "Guest Service Expectations".

1.) I e-mail the General Manager on two different occasions within the course of a year. Both e-mails were in regards to the explore rate, whereas he refuses to unaccept any associate's/family's rate for Starwoord Call Center employees working in Wichita, Kansas. Sadly, the General Manager never replied to the two e-mails regarding the above concerns.

2.) Even worse, at the end of my most recent stay, I informed two associates on three different occasions, I needed to speak with the GM regarding a charge on my bank statement. The charges were incorrect due to the fact, I made my reservations online using my Marriott Reward Points. The one night stay should've resulted to a "NO monetary charge". Unfortunately, a charge was added to my bank card on file. It wasn't until after I made several attempts to contact the GM, I finally realized I was being ignored once again. The truth of the matter, this manager ignored my calls and emails and care less about any guest service's concerns.

In addition to being ignored, when I checked in the hotel, the front entrance was landscaped with trash overflowing from a trash container by the door. It wasn't until the night auditor (Caleb) took it upon himself to pick up the trash that was there hours prior to his work shift. I experienced a much more pleasant experience with Caleb than any other representative at this location. However, I will not stay at this location ever again. My bank card was charged almost $100.00 which caused a major issue with overdraft protection. Because I didn't transfer funds over, the charges in error caused a overdraft fee. The GM simply didn't care about my concerns or the overdraft fees. I don't think this General Manager care about...

I have edited the below, previous review from 1 star to 4 stars, due to the appropriate and reasonable actions to correct the issue and honor my many years of being a loyal customer at Marriott. The GM admitted that their desk staff should have handled the situation differently, but did acknowledge that their hotel recently eliminated military retirees from the group receiving military discounts. All I was looking was for the reasonable response the GM provided when I spoke with him. Well done on his part. [Retired U.S, Army LTC here, who has stayed at Marriott Hotels for 30 years. During those years I have always gotten the military discount. I have used both my active ID and my retiree ID at tens of Marriotts. If a Marriott said you need to be on duty orders or didn’t have military rooms available, no problem. I reserved a room for six nights and showed up at 8 pm, after driving for seven hours to be told by a rude desk worker that I would have to pay $300 more, because I am retired. Look at the photos I posted. Military. Federal ID. I had both. I’ve never had to go to the small print on a third page to see only active duty are military. For some reason I still consider myself military after 29 years of service. I was told this is the choice of the franchisee. The young man at the desk was rude and wouldn’t even have the general manager contact me, even though I gave them my cell number. They easily could have given a one time exception and I would have known, but I guess Marriott does not value military retirees. Shame on you. I’ve paid tens of thousands of dollars to Marriott over the years. Not another dime from me. I’m writing this from a Baymont hotel I had to get at last minute. Military, retirees, and veterans, stay away from this Fairfield Inn in East Wichita. Again, shame on them.]

My husband and I travel frequently for both work and personal reasons, and over time we’ve become loyal Marriott customers. Typically, he handles our bookings unless I’m traveling alone, as was the case this week. Despite having a confirmed reservation, I arrived to find that I did not have a room. No one from the hotel contacted me in advance to inform me of any issues or to discuss alternatives. Instead, I was simply told upon arrival that I would be staying at a different hotel — a competitor — and that it would be covered. As if that alone made up for the inconvenience. I was promised an equivalent room, which I did not receive. After a long day and a lengthy drive, the experience was incredibly frustrating. I even checked with the Marriott property next door and was informed that they did have availability that morning — a clear indication that, had I been contacted, a better solution could have been arranged. The lack of communication and disregard for customer experience was disappointing, to say the least. I also noticed a stack of similar paperwork at the front desk, suggesting that several other guests received the same treatment. To make matters worse, this stay didn’t even count toward my Marriott app rewards. All in all, this was an extremely poor customer service experience, and I will not be booking at this location again.

New from the last time. We always stay here and were surprised they had moved. Wish they had let my mother-in-law know when she booked (she's a frequent booker) because we went to the old one and we didn't bring swimsuits because we didn't know they now have an indoor pool. A pool/hot tub is a great addition. The hotel is nice. The bathroom is great. The breakfast was not very good, though. And I don't know if they switched beds but they don't seem as great as the old place. The beds were the whole reason we stay here. Also, we usually get a suite because my husband works nights and we keep different hours. The suite here does not have a door, nor is it around the corner like we've always had. It's just an entry way. 2 TVs in a room, separated by nothing. Why? You definitely can't watch two TVs at once here, unless you put them both on closed captioning. It seemed like they have a lot of handicapped rooms and rooms equipped for deaf guests.
