"Admin" commented on my review below asking me to reply and give them my phone number and email address, but gave no contact information or a place where I could do that. Google Maps doesn't allow that. So that's either a technical error on their end or a cop-out that makes Slim Chickens look like they want to take care of it. Review below.
5 stars for the food. 3 stars for the service.
Love the food. Not expensive. Wish this chain was available in California. I've had some really good chicken in a lot of places, heck, I've had fantastic food all over the planet (check my reviews) and this is a fantastic place for fast chicken at a great value price. This place is WAY better than Raising Canes and is a completely different experience. The breading on the chicken is completely different than Raising Canes. The only thing that makes this similar to Raising Canes is that they both sell fried chicken.
The staff here have mixed up our order a bunch of times, though. Like one night, our family ordered around four meals and a few desserts through the drive thru, and got two bags of food. When the bags were opened at home, there was like 7 or 8 meals and no desserts. It was the wrong order. And get this - after looking at the receipt, our family actually didn't even get all of the wrong order. We didn't get the sides that were on the receipt. Meaning someone after us may have gotten our meals, the sides, and the desserts 🤷♂️
Tonight, 08/15, we ordered on the mobile app for in-car pickup. We added an "Oreo Jar" to the order. We didn't get it. So I walked in to get one, to which I twice got the response, "we don't sell that anymore", without an immediate solution offered. Just a simple "We don't have those here." Okay? And you were going to let me just pay $4.99 for nothing? After speaking with the second person, I said "Yep. I realize that. But, regardless if you carry it or not, I bought one. What are we going to do about it?" to which I was told they could make a different dessert jar. I get that there's a technical issue here - the app shouldn't allow customers to buy that item. But the fact that the staff here was just going to neglect to bring it up was honestly off-putting. Just contact the customer right off the bat, ask how you can fix it. Don't just let a customer pay for something you don't offer, say nothing, then be put out when they bring it up. Some sort of floor supervisor told me that she didn't know why it was available via the app and apologized. So that was nice.
Overall, food here is 5/5. Sauces are always great. Service? Seems inconsistent. Needs some quality...
Read moreAllow me to start with the best that I can say. The food was outstanding. The customer service, or lack thereof, ruins the entire meal. First, they refused to allow my phone to be charged. Sure, this is minor, but I'm used to getting stellar service here, so this experience started bad. Next, they messed up my order. They follow this up with refusing to get control of the noise level. This went from a restaurant experience to a rock concert quickly. When I tried to make a phone call, I had to speak over this volume, and I was asked to quiet down. Not the crowd that I needed to speak over to be heard on the phone, but the person who was being ignored by my simple request to quiet the crowd, so that I could be heard on the phone. I called the restaurant today to speak to the manager about this experience, and I was treated like i didn't matter,, so I followed this up with several calls to corporate which was only answered by a machine. I was a regular customer at the slim chickens location in Dallas, TX, and I loved it because of the great customer service they provided. Obviously, the location on N. Greenwich in Wichita, KS doesn't understand customer service. I recommend passing on this location. But I pride myself in choosing places with great customer service. If you prefer to be treated subpar while eating delicious food, then this is definitely the place for you, as the food truly is delicious. I...
Read moreFood would make this place 5 stars all alone. When you add in customer service (1 star) you get 3. First time I went here I went in to order a carryout and it takes about 15 minutes. That's ok since the food is being made fresh. So I drive home and go to get a fry while driving and no fries, and wrong order completely. I thought that was the purpose of the #'s. So i ate whatever they gave me and just chalked it up to a simple mistake. So fast forward 3 weeks later me and my wife were on that side of town so since my wife hadnt had it yet decided to stop in again. long wait as usual but got hot, fresh food. Before leaving decided to get dessert so got a peach pie for the mrs and a peanut butter jar for me. I paid, got my number and went to sit back down. 15 minutes later I go back up to the counter and ask where the desserts are at (same person I ordered from twice) and she goes to check. She talks with a manager and then comes back to ask me where my receipt is?! I told her I threw it away and pointed to the # sitting on my table. So she went back and found out that they gave away my order to the drive thru (once again why the hell is there a # but no way to track orders?) So they made the pie again (5 more minutes) and tue only thing the manager said to me was sorry when handing me the bag. Even though the food is great the customer service is the worst I have experienced in a long time and I...
