This locations management has no moral. Went in with my children to shop and left with an upset child. My child went to gather things for a school project and as she was holding her items she reached down to scratch her leg (she had cargo pants on) and an employee accused her of stealing. The employee gathered 2 other girls and followed her around. When my child said hi they asked her to hand them everything she had. She proceeded to give them her 3 items and the staff member did told her "you need top pay for this and we saw you put it in your pocket." The items were in her HAND and NEVER in her pocket. She simply reached down to scratch her leg with her hand and the staff ASSUMED the product went into her pocket. AGAIN the items were in her hand and she never removed anything from her pocket. She came and told me as I was shopping around elsewhere. She was distraught and uncomfortable at this point and told me what had happened. I approached the 2 of the 3 girls whom accused her of "putting it in her pocket". One blonde girl denied she accused her, the dark brown hair girl stated "my employee saw her put it in her pocket." Again she never pulled anything out of her pocket to hand them so therefore it was NEVER in her pocket. I asked for an apology for the false accusation and the dark hair girl said "no I don't need to give one." The girl profiled and falsely accused my child of stealing. When my child did not pull anything out of her pocket you should have apologized for the false accusation at that moment. She proceeded to threaten me with getting the store manager. I said "get him." The man avoided any eye contacted with me and did not say one word. Simply DISRESPECTFUL. Did not address the situation which I know I caused a scene as another customer approached me outside and said that was wrongful of the staff members as she has worked in retail as well.
If you and your staff falsely accuse someone of something and find out you were wrong please apologize. Instead of telling a mother you don't need to give the child an apology. What are you teaching my child? You are acting as if you did nothing yet you decided to profile my kid.
The staff clearly had no moral and clearly need proper training on approaching and accusing someone of stealing. I've worked many years in retail and would never in my life accuse someone who is still shopping of stealing unless I saw it and had video footage. If the person never took anything out of ANY pockets recognize you are wrong.
My daughter was shopping and simply scratching her leg.
If Hobby Lobby treats all their customers of color like this I will take my business else were for my products where the staff members are honest and can admit...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was the closest Hobby Lobby to our house (that was still open). My daughter and I shop at Hobby Lobby all of the time, but compared to others, this store's organization of items was horrible. Their layout didn't make sense, as in the same category of items were spread out in different sections of the store. We had 45 minutes to find the TWO items we we're looking for and it took us until the last closing call to give up and leave.
We were only looking for Paracord (they only had 4 colors in the 550) and Swarovski (or similar) crystals. They had very few Swarovski Crystals in stock (one size and maybe 4 colors on and end cap display) and in that 45 minutes we couldn't even locate any other brands of crystals ANYWHERE š¤·š¼āāļø
One would assume they'd be in the same isle, or an isle over, like other Hobby Lobby's... But they weren't. We searched every isle in the ENTIRE backside of the store.
Also, we had at minimum of 3 employees walk past us during this 45 minutes. It was obvious that we were frantically searching for something before they closed, but none of them bothered to ask if we needed any help. I sent my 19 year old daughter to find an employee to help us after last call, but they said we were in the right spot and of we didn't find what we needed, then they didn't carry it! š²
We have since moved, but I'd never go back to this location. Very poor selection and the night crew obviously is only concerned with being out of the store...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love Hobby Lobby, but I'll be finding a different store next time. I asked to read the box of a Cricut machine to see what materials came with it, etc. The lady was rude and told me that the info is on the display. That's true, but don't you have to go in the back and get the item anyway? Then as she walked away, she got on her radio and told a co-worker that it's all listed on the card (you have to bring a card to the register to buy that item. They're not just on the shelf.) We were going to buy it, but my niece wanted to read the box and see if she needed other materials with it. This isn't the first time I've experienced rudeness from the employees. Don't dare ask for fabric to be cut, because it's a huge inconvenience for them. To not bother them I was measuring it myself, I asked for a price and the lady acted like it was an issue to help. I kept going back to this store for my wedding decor because I know people have bad days. But this happens almost everytime at this particular location. I'll be going to Derby Hobby Lobby...
