Had a horrible time here just now- found everything in the store just fine but trouble started when me and my partner went to check out. They vaguely put a cart in front of the checkout- so we stood around for awhile then a girl rudely says “sorry the self checkout is closed” without any explanation as to why? Is it new policy (like the 10 items or less rule now)? Was the system just down? Who knows! Now I get to play a guessing game every time I go to Target now! (Yay!!) So now that they arbitrarily closed the self checkout we mosey over to checkout lanes. Me and my partner wanted to use two different cards, so we automatically knew this would be a hassle since the self checkout is the most friendly towards double card payments. The cashier herself is somewhat slow paced but I don’t really mind that much. She scans our things- we go to use a card and it denies, okay we forgot to ask to split it our bad! She splits the payment and we try the same card again- nope! Doesn’t like that one, we try another and another and another and nope it keeps denying! Eventually we use our red card which sucks, but we ask her to put the full amount on it which is easier. We put the red card in- and then bam! It goes through with the $12 charge- this sucks. We try the remaining amount with the red card again and it hates that. We resort to using my bank account which gives me a huge overdraft fee but we literally are out of options. It goes through finally. I am frankly fuming, all of this could be avoided if the self checkout was open! Even if we had to use the regular check out the system should not have given us that much of a hassle. Overall soured my opinions of Target and I will hesitate to come...
Read moreI want to share a troubling experience my mother and I had with an undercover employee at this Target location. The first incident occurred on Saturday, January 11, when I visited the store wearing a hoodie. As soon as I entered the women’s clothing section, I noticed a specific employee (a white female, approximately 5'2"–5'4" with blonde hair) who appeared to be working undercover as a shopper. She began circling around me, hovering uncomfortably close and staring whenever I looked at an item. She even followed me throughout the store, as if suspecting me of theft, despite me clearly not engaging in any suspicious behavior. Her actions made me so uncomfortable that I decided to leave the store altogether. The second incident happened today, January 13, when I returned to the store with my mother, who also wears a hijab. As soon as we entered the makeup section, the same employee began targeting both of us. She stood unreasonably close—just 2–4 feet away—and continued to monitor us as we tried to shop. Her attempts to appear inconspicuous as a shopper were ineffective, as it was evident she was specifically focused on us. When my mother and I began discussing her inappropriate behavior, we decided to confront her calmly to ask why she was targeting us. Instead of addressing our concerns, she began shouting at us and repeatedly said, "I don’t want this to escalate," despite the fact that we were only asking a question. She then escalated the situation herself by making empty threats, pretending to call the police, and ultimately forcing us to leave the store. Her actions felt discriminatory, Islamophobic, and...
Read moreI had some trouble on Black Friday with Target's mobile phone system locking me out of my account. I spent several hours waiting in a virtual line to get a new phone, only to be locked out and sent home without the phone at midnight. I made a ton of calls to different people and companies trying to clear up the situation, but after 2 hours, was still without a solution. The next day I spent a couple more hours on the phone clearing things up. Finally, Brandon, a sales associate (or more likely manager) in the mobile phone department told me the issue resolved itself 30 minutes after the lockout, so I could have got the phone the night before if someone else had had a clue what was going on. When I finally got the phone the sales associate was slow and seemed confused as to how to sell and activate my phone. He gave me very little information and I still wonder if he upgraded my plan correctly, I suppose I'll find out on my next bill. Overall, the experience was a nightmare, but I ended up getting the phone plus a $250 gift card (the Black Friday special). Target also had an awesome deal on some Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Movie combo packs for as low as $6! The store as a whole is clean and tidy with plenty of choices in apparel, toys, home goods, and groceries. They are a little more expensive that some other large chain stores in town, but a good store all in all. I just wish I had better things to say about my Black Friday experience, but that's probably how every Black Friday shopper feels at every store. It's chaos, but at Target it was, more or less, we'll...
