Covid-19 has changed the way we look at things when it comes down to cleanliness and, first appearances is of utmost importance. We were told that they were doing contactless check-in...NOT!! No hand sanitizer in the rental office nor on any floors by the elevator or in the elevator. We walked into a room full of sand on the floors and a sandy butt print on a dining chair. Their brand new sofa sleeper had some white stuff on it that we could only imagine what it was and ended up throwing a sheet over it. Missing ceiling tile over the shower. The sink drain in the bedroom leaked and maintenance didn’t want to touch it cause it was way too old and brittle. Only 1 burner worked on their brand new range and by Friday morning, it also died completely while making coffee. Must’ve have been common, since they had portable burners at hand in the rental office. Let me not forget to mention that some of dishes were dirty also. I explained everything to management which in turn said that they’ve been very short handed during the season and couldn’t get anyone to work. But honestly, that doesn’t reassure me that the place is safe amid this crisis. Thankfully, we were also prepared to disinfect and clean during our stay, we just didn’t expect to have to clean the room before unpacking!! They’ve installed new laminate flooring, new kitchen cabinets, counter top, range and a sofa. At first, it was exciting news till I saw that they kept every old appliance, dishes, flatware and the rest of the furniture. We’ve been staying in the Crest for over 10 years and had always rented homes and condos for the whole family, usually on E Nashville or Stockton. But since it’s just my wife and I now that our kids and nephews are grown, we wanted somewhere to crash for the week that was small and inexpensive....but as they say, you get what you pay for!! We stuck it out due to the fact that Wildwood has always been dear to us and very relaxing in September and as essential workers, my wife and I have been working 10+ hours 6 days a week since March and very much needed the break! Wildwood...we’ll see you next year but hopefully from...
Read moreA much needed reprieve and healing space was needed as I honored my mother's third birthday in heaven. I was nervous of loud activities, I was worried that because I couldn't reserve a front Oceanview that I would have a poor view of the ocean! NOT THE CASE at all! Upon check in I observed the evening staff watching the camera, the 24 hour surveillance was welcoming and his attentiveness was reassuring. The staff Christie was amazing, kind-hearted and professional! She made a few suggestion for spa and lunch area with good vibes, NAILED it! The second day I noticed the cleaning staff moved quietly and quickly between rooms, I have stayed in hotels where the radio playing while staff cleaned is obnoxiously loud. The room was VERY clean, and I brought products to clean and spray. It was not needed. The room spacious, the living room and bedroom decor tasteful accents of beach and resort. The furniture had the Ikea modern contemporary vibe. I sat on the balcony and watched a sunrise and enjoyed my breakfast on the beach. If the chairs were wicker or if the plastic chairs had beach-like cushions that would have been a lovely touch. It was not dated, whitewashed furniture was a nice touch infusing beach theme inside. I stood over the family area, grills etc. seemed nice and I could see it being a wonderful addition to family fun. I plan to return with my kids to partake in pool and that areas. I booked for next year! That's how much I enjoyed staying at the Acacia...
Read moreI have stayed at the Acacia for the past 6 years the week before Labor Day with my children, my parents, and friends of the family. Up until now my experiences have been wonderful. This year I called the hotel directly to book my room as always and was given a rate of $250.00 per night for a minimum of 3 nights. Tonight the friends of the family that are staying at that time with us have just booked their room for $150.00 per night. They were very fortunate because they booked through Expedia. So, with this information I decided to call the Acacia and see if there is anything that can be done about my rates since I have been a loyal customer of the resort. They proceeded to tell me that "there is nothing we can do. They apparently had cancellations that Expedia booked for them to fill the rooms." This is pretty bad business in my opinion. So, the moral of this story is wait until the last minute to book your rooms and always go through Expedia or another booking website so that you will be treated fairly and at a fair price. Also, I was told if I canceled my reservation then I would forfeit 100% of my deposit. They've given no choice. They are not willing to even consider working with loyal customers. It's very unfortunate that this has happened to me. I will seriously consider whether or not I stay there ever again. After all, hotels are only in business as long as they have customers. I can't imagine that I am not the only extremely...
