Booked a 3 night stay last minute on a travel website wasn’t sure what to expect but had a great stay here||The motel is literally 6 stair steps from the sand without any roads in between you and the fantastically wide open wildwood crest beaches. You are far away from the boardwalk noise and bike lanes of motels further up the coast that at night it gets very quiet and easy to sleep. ||The motel has a pool with a water pressured slide running all day to keep the fun going, with a small gated section for little children||Free ice machine and a small game room / vending area are on the first floor too||We stayed in a first floor room with a kitchen loaded with pots, plates, utensils, cooking gadgets to use with the a gas (!) range, microwave, toaster and kitchen sink.||The room has one AC in the back and a ceiling fan in the living room to draw in air.||Updated TVs in both the back sleeping area and family room, funny enough no telephones.||Everything about the room was clean and had daily maid services, towels replaced, vacuumed and sanitation.||The two cons I have for the hotel are that the cable tv in the back room is very spotty, family room tv no issues. Also the wifi was decent but would not hold a strong single at all for video calls unless I was outside the room. It would be nice to have comcast install Ethernet jacks in the room there was none available.||Also they allow smoking everywhere policy was hard to escape the fog, right outside the common balcony’s with the smoke coming in our own room was awful. If something could be done to guide visitors to smoke on the deck away from the rooms the stay would have...
Read moreIs it a five star type hotel, no. Is it a five star vacation type place for most people, well behaved family units looking for a unique, wholesome experience, great service and great other guests of the same type, - yes indeed. It always seems a great mix if "Seniors" and well behaved children spanning all ages.||||What some may experience as not optimal, we are quite fine with - the place has character! The staff has consistently great if even changes (some staff is different), - three years later, this place has been as good as I could expect. Nothings perfect, however, the *attitude *is, - great people (staff, all), with a great process and focus on - you. ||||Could it use updating in some aspects, that's debatable. That's up to you and your preference list for a hotel/motel. It could use a lift/elevator for the second and third floor; however, the folks that carry their stuff up those stairs are not complaining. To date, I've always been accommodated to my needs even when "no vacancy" exists. ||||If you are like me, a bit of a germaphobe, and may not be able to overlook certain things, - I think if one just comments, "please make sure ... is well cleaned", I would be surprised if not just done and not made to feel bad about asking. They can't make it "new" but they can make it clean! ||||The grounds, pool, beach area are all always immaculate when we've been there. We just can't imagine it better and being away from home. The whole town if Wildwood Crest is on the same page of - helpful and friendly it...
Read moreThis was by far the worst motel experience I’ve ever had. We booked three rooms for three nights, expecting a basic level of service — but what we got was complete chaos and disrespect.||||To start, the rooms were absolutely filthy. The toilet in one of our rooms was yellow and clearly hadn’t been cleaned. When we called the front desk to report it, no one cared. There was no apology, no attempt to fix the problem — just pure indifference.||||Even worse, we were forced to move to different rooms each night. Yes, every single night. The motel staff told us the owners of the property “share” the rooms and when they show up, paying guests have to vacate. We had children with us, and having to pack everything up each night and move to a new room was beyond frustrating and completely unacceptable. This is not how a business should operate.||||When we raised concerns, we were told — verbatim — “If you don’t like it, take your f*ing money and leave.” That level of unprofessionalism is unbelievable.||||The mattresses and sheets were dirty, and housekeeping was clearly not doing their job. It didn’t help that the manager’s daughter was supposedly in charge of cleaning some of the rooms — and clearly didn’t care to do it well.||||I would never recommend this place to anyone. Save yourself the stress and stay literally anywhere else. This motel should not be...
