Bal Harbour in Wildwood Crest is awesome!
Some friends and I stayed here last August for two nights and was very happy with the room and customer service. When I arrived at the hotel, I loved the location and surroundings. The hotel is right on the beach and the view is beautiful, and the surroundings are also beautiful. When I arrived and parked to go in, I was politely greeted by the attendant at the counter and check-in was nice and easy. The foyer is beautiful and air conditioning was just right. Not too cold and definitely not hot. There is plenty of room to park on their property as well. Upon going to my room, I took notice that the whole building was kept up nice and neat and clean. When I entered the room and took a look around and got settled in, I was very pleased with how nice the room was, and the view from the room was breath taking. Everything was clean and neat, the air conditioning was going and it wasn’t overly cold and it wasn’t too warm. There is plenty of space in the closets and dressers to put your clothes and luggage. The bed and pillows are very comfortable, and the bathroom is also very clean. There was also a small kitchen in my room, and there are even some things there to use in the kitchen. All the faucets work and the cold water is cold, and the hot water is hot. There are no water leaks whatsoever, either. There was also a couch and some chairs within the room and they were also very comfortable, and the room was also very spacious. Something that is also very important to me is the security of a room when I stay at a hotel, and the room was very secure and there were no signs that it would be easy for vandals to break in.
Within the hotel there is also a pool and a restaurant. The pool is beautiful and nicely maintained. There are plenty of chairs and tables to use around the pool. The restaurant was also wonderful. It has a cozy atmosphere with nice seating and the staff is nice and polite. The food was outstanding, the plates, cups and silverware were all nice, and the menu is very reasonably priced.
I’m sure if you’re going to Wildwood, you would like to go to the beach, and if you stay at Bal Harbour you will be happy that the beach is right behind the hotel. It’s a very short walk to get out on the beach, and the beach is clean and beautiful.
If you would like to go to the boardwalk, it is also not a far walk to get to the boardwalk. If you would like to rent a bike to use around Wildwood, there is also a bike rental place near by.
All things considered, staying at Bal Harbour is a great choice for your Wildwood vacation. I will be back again in June and I am looking...
Read moreMy family planned our first trip in a couple of years for my father’s 70th bday, my mother’s also been going through chemo. I’m a single mom who owns a business. Between this all it was a big deal we made it away. Our 1st day we went to the pool & my 3 year old son kept falling, my father saw this so after mentioning how slippery it was he was walking down the steps from the kiddie pool one at a time, while holding on & fell down the steps and hit the back of his head and back really hard and his arm was scraped and bleeding..someone slowly supplied ice and air. We saw numerous guests falling over our 5 days(from our balcony) in which my family was nervous to enjoy the pool...so be aware the Pool deck is very slippery, you must wear water shoes. They also don’t have a lifeguard. I should mention there was no accommodation made or contact from any manager or owner after the injury that painted our vacation. My poor father could barely do anything on his own and had to go to an urgent care for X-rays etc. we couldn’t even go to the beach more then once because he was our muscle originally for hauling the cart..the toilets are very low which is good for children but didn’t work well for my father who’s back was now injured.
In the room the Towels are small and rough, cleaning service just OK(did the minimum),parking is available but small parking spaces and very hard to get in and out of in the bigger garage. There’s also no real temp control. If the AC is on you’re very cold and if off it’s stuffy...there’s no between. In the arcade it appears like it’s going to be cool and yes there are some working games however many are broken and have worn down handles that are extremely sticky. The restaurant service is extremely slow, the food was just OK and dinner is finished being served by 730. The elevators are veeeryyyy sloooww. In case you don’t know you really can’t walk to anything from here.
Positives- spacious room with a good layout for my parents to have their own space and my son and I to sleep in the living area on our own real bed. Close to the beach(still a walk don’t let that fool you). Pretty view.
As a business owner it takes a lot for me to rate a place low and to post a bad review but this was well deserved. They knowingly do not make the changes that they know will avoid major injuries. I met a woman who’s family has been staying here for years..they were all wearing shoes in the pool and said this has always been the case. My fam made the best of the vacation cause that’s what we do, yet I felt sharing this was necessary. Maybe this will help make a...
Read moreSo here goes... First off I don't usually expect too much from a Wildwood hotel. Most are the same. You are staying in a room within a minute walk to the beach. Your paying for location not a 5 star resort. That being said you at least expect things to be clean and in working order. My wife and I stayed for three days along with my youngest son who is 12. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was what you would expect from a hotel on the beach, however there are a few things worth noting. The beds are terrible and they don't have sheets that fit the bed. After sleeping in the bed for a few hours the sheets were all balled up and you were laying on a dirty mattress. We called the desk and asked for fitted sheets and were told they don't use fitted sheets on the beds. On the second night my son was cold and I took one of three blankets in the room to cover him. As I laid the blanket on him, sand poured out all over the bed. I didn't know who to be more pissed at, the jackass that used bed blankets for the beach or the hotel for not washing the bedding before turning the room over. The rest of the room was mostly clean except for someone's toe nail clipping on the rug. I guess the same guy that is supposed to wash the blankets is in charge of vacuuming as well....he also missed the used bandaid that was in the hallway outside our door for all three days we were there.
On the first night my son wanted to go to the arcade that was advertised on the website. Unfortunately he was disappointed to see out of order signs on almost every game. There were only three or four working games in the whole place. What a waste. I do have to say that the pool and deck area were the best part of the hotel. Very clean and well kept. The crew was out there every morning and evening cleaning the pools and deck area. The pool was very enjoyable. All in all we had some good family time at the shore but don't think I would return to this hotel. Hopefully this review helps and the owners use it constructively to make the necessary...
