Do not book this hotel!! I’m never one to complain, as I work in the hospitality business, and I am well aware things may not always go as planned, so I am usually pretty understanding. Yesterday I checked in for a one night stay, I was told by Alex the day before that I could check in anytime after 8 am. I got there at noon and Joanne was at the desk and told me check in was at 2, but she would let me in early. Ok great. We go up to the room open the door and there is a couple in there still sleeping!! They were clearly shocked to see us walk in with our bags. It was embarrassing for both parties. We go back down and tell Joanne that someone was in the room she gave us, and she was baffled as to who could be in there. Ok, not very professional, but ok. We wait an hour outside for another room to be cleaned and ready. We get into that room, unpack, settle in, and get a knock on the door that someone is already staying in the room we were now in. We had to move to a THIRD room. How does this hotel not have any clue who is staying in what room?? We settle in again, go into the bathroom, and find chewed gum on the tissue box. At this point we were so completely frustrated and grossed out, that we packed up. We really did not want to spend the night anymore. I went to give Joanna the key back, and showed her the picture of the chewed gum, and she said oh would you like another room? A 4th room?? No thank you. I told her we really just wanted to leave at this point, and asked if we could please have a refund. She said she would ask. Today when we inquired about the refund, Joanne told us that mistakes happen. We told her that we wanted our money back, we had a terrible experience, and we didn’t even stay the night. She got very rude, at this point we demanded a refund. She declined. We said we were going to give the hotel a bad review, and she said we were threatening her. She told us if we wrote a bad review, that she would just respond with the “truth”. I have never in my life encountered such an unprofessional establishment. Mistakes do happen, but to have no clue which rooms are occupied or not, and clearly not properly cleaned, especially during a pandemic, that’s a whole new level. Do not book this hotel unless you feel like flushing money...
Read moreI stayed here a few years ago and I didn't have any problems everything was great. But this year I called to make a reservation then I remembered that night that I forgot to mention before I made the reservations that I had a pet bird. I meant to ask before I made the reservation if they allow pets so I called back the next day. The person I spoke to said no we don't allow pets so I said I have to cancel my reservation. Then she said well what kind of bird is it. I explained that it was a small parrot, a green cheek conure and right away she said oh a parrot, no, no pets. I said it's really small and she said that's what people say and then they get here and it's not the case, as if I was lying. Then she said why didn't you mention that when you made the reservations, with an attitude. I said I forgot that's why I'm calling right back. I said so I can't bring the bird and she replied in a nasty voice, "I guess you have to, don't you". So I decided I didn't want to stay there anymore and called another place that allows pets to make a reservation. When I called back to cancel I was told I couldn't get my money back even though I pointed out that the website says I can get it back as long as I cancel before 2 weeks of my arrival date. When I mentioned the website she said the website says no refunds then she said I don't give refunds once I run the credit card. I was told I could call the manager the next morning but she would tell me the same thing about not getting my money back. I told her no I will be getting my money back. When I called the next day the same person answered the phone, although she pretended she was not the same person, and said sure you can get a refund you were given the wrong information. I waited 2 days and no refund so I called my credit card company to dispute the charges and they refunded the money. Needless to say I will NEVER stay...
Read moreGood location away from crowd on the boardwalk. About 20 minutes walk to boardwalk. Close to park with children's attractions. About 500 steps from ocean. Motel itself is a real 1 star motel. Things that were missing from use were shampoo, dish scrub sponge (we were offered to use small towels), be sure to bring your own towels since their towels could only serve to sand walls, seriously sand wall paper in home Depot is probably softer 5gan their towels. Kitchen sink and toilet got clogged multiple times. Kitchen has good amount of forks, spoons, knives, couple pots but no frying pans. A/c was working fine although on a 2bd day it tripped the breaker. Luckily their service man found where to fix it. There are 3 grills in a little patio. The right one not working at all, left one and middle are somewhat working. They were cleaned everyday but I would think it was useless. Throw them away and buy a good ones. 3 tables with umbrella on the 1st floor and 2 on the 2nd floor balcony. Everyone were smoking everywhere. Gosh, place a sign not to smoke in the balcony. I had neighbors on right and left smoking non-stop such that I had to go away instead of sitting and enjoying evenings like the ones who sit and smoke there all day long. Overall I would say for $300 per night the quality of service in this motel is awful, but if you come prepared the proximity to beach, biking rental and children's park are might be...
