I went here with my husband for the first time by recommendation from the locals. The place was busy which usually indicates that is good.I had no problem waiting longer than they had told me. Sat down, our server was pretty friendly and gave some recommendations. The food was just okay and the portion of my skillet was much smaller than I anticipated especially for the price. They do not allow substitutions and charge you extra for anything that you add even if you omit an ingredient. The prices are higher than average for just mediocre food. The coffee was also very watered down. As I was eating my skillet, I mentioned to our server that I wanted an opportunity to at least taste the pancakes at the pancake house and ask if there was a smaller option that I could purchase. He recommended buying the silver dollar pancakes that were on the children's menu. They were $6.95 for literally only 5 mini silver dollar pancakes (nothing else) And so I agreed ,after eating about 2 of those silver dollar pancakes. He comes back out to the table and says I apologize but my manager has indicated to me that I must charge you an additional dollar because you're not a child and apologized for his mistake, as he did that, his manager pulled her head out from the kitchen and yelled across to our table with customers sitting in between emphasizing, what he was stating to us. It was totally embarrassing, unprofessional and unnecessary. I expressed to him that I felt that should have should have been dismissed as a mistake on his behalf and a lesson learned for the next time. At the end, I paid our full bill, including the $7.95 for the mini pancakes and tipped a full 20% because he had no fault in it, but they have definitely lost a...
Read moreWe were there 02/18/24 and will not waste our time going back. The server was not friendly the manager was very rude and the food was bland. We had a large party so our daughter called before arriving thinking we may need a reservation. She was told they do not take reservations that it was first come first serve and we arrived at 8:15am doors opened at 7. Once we were seated I told the server we were waiting on 1 other guest to arrive that it would be awhile. So my husband and I to her (the server) we were waiting to order but the others will have their meal being our young grand children were hungry. The server asked if we were still waiting and was told yes. Not long after she approached our table stating they had a reservation coming in for our table ( now granted we were told by the staff member they do not take reservations) so of course she had to get her very rude manager to our table. The manager explained again there was a reservation there waiting for our table and told us we had to leave this was at 9:10. I simply told her our daughter called and was told they do not take reservations and she then replied no she didn’t ( stating my daughter did not call) we should have walked out and would have if we ate with our children. So unfortunately part of our family had to leave and my husband, son and I had to move to another table so we could have our meal. It was my birthday with my children and grandchildren and could not enjoy it with all of us together. We will NEVER return to this restaurant and WILL NOT suggest this place to anyone. I have been a server for over 25 years and have never had to write a review for any restaurant we have visited but this one could not be...
Read moreFrom the moment my dad and I walked in, it was off. The woman up front had to yell back at our server multiple times to come grab us and he didn’t seem happy to be there at all. When I was concerned about pricing he didn’t have an answer for me. A server is supposed to help you get the best deal and tell you the easiest way to order things. He gave me an outrageous price for the French toast I wanted so I just said nevermind and got something else. I got the cinnaswirl pancakes a side of hash browns and a side of 1 egg scrambled with cheese. Dad got bacon and eggs. My eggs were super overcooked, brown (almost burned) in some places and the cheese was like hard from it. They looked gross and they were gross. The hashbrowns were literally half uncooked and half burnt. I wish I had taken a picture because it was THAT bad. Literally black and white. I tasted a bite and they were also cold. My dad didn’t even touch his. The pancakes tasted alright only bc of the icing and bc I was starving but were way to big (doesn’t mention anything about them being big, I thought they would be regular size) and stuck together. On top of all that, everything was extremely over priced and we paid $43 for one of the worst breakfasts we’ve ever had. That part kind of pissed me off. I have no clue how this place has 4.5 stars bc that is 100% a lie. Completely misleading. And this is coming from someone who has never actually decided to go leave a review on somewhere. It was that bad that I had to jump on here. Would have been better off going to IHOP 10 minutes down the road...
