Ramen Time — Restaurant in Williamsburg

The atmosphere here is great and the customer serves was good. I was concerned about a few things, but all and all it was a good experience. However there are some things to worry about.

Sushi; Was great.

Ramen; That was another story.

A little advice to the owners. I don't care if you got to put up a sign saying warning hot broth, that broth should never be lukewarm. Ever. EVER.

Y'all definitely need to find out what Togorashi is and have it in your place. There is no excuse for not having it. None. Even worse the waiter didn't know what it was... bad form. Very bad form.

Work on your chili oil. It tasted burnt. And it shouldn't. A nice garlic chili oil or aroma oil would definitely make this shop. Get on working on that developing it.

The Karage could be a little crispier, but you probably wanna bring out a sauce for that. Something thicker than your sauce for your pot stickers or whatever. Which they themselves were pretty awesome.

I don't know who needs to read this, but you are a good Rame Shop which could easily, with a little effort, be the best in the area. It's possible. Your competition isn't all that big.

Nitpick; gotta get or at least have a choice for that gooey egg. The soft-boiled eggs you guys use, they are 'okay', but there should be a choice to break that egg and have it runny. Not just a little crystals.

Lastly and most importantly. Your chair su game is trash. underwhelming, burnt edges, and not a hint of sweetness, but maybe it being burnt, not seared, burnt, was a problem Which could also have combined with the oil to make it taste very burnt. But I tried both with and without the oil. I plan on returning after a while to see if some of what I went through was because of the time. We were there around 7, so, sad to say you don't get the best service an hour or to close.

I went here tonight and the ambiance and food were great! However, I was disappointed with the service. I was initially sat, greeted, and had my order taken by a young woman. She came back to my table ONE time after taking my order, just to give us our appetizer. And the store was not busy at all. The table behind me even made a comment to me- “It seems like we have two servers and you have none.” Because both my “server” and another woman walked right past my table to their table multiple times without stopping for me once. The table behind me arrived after me, and we watched them be served MANY items including a few sushi rolls before I finally went to the sushi bar and asked about ours and they were sitting there waiting to be brought to my table. I had to get up and grab my own fork for my 5 year old who cant use chopsticks. Was never asked if everything was good or if we needed anything. I had to flag a man down to ask for my check (I believe Kevin was his name and he was very nice). But even after paying, I said thank you to my initial server while walking out and she didn’t even speak back. I am a young woman who came alone with my two children and couldn’t help but think they were taking care of other parties who they thought would “tip better.” I hope that’s not the case because I ALWAYS tip well over 20% but have been a server before and heard other servers’ comments and that’s 100% how the two women tonight made me feel. My 11 year old even noticed and commented on the fact that the few occupied tables around us were constantly being visited while we consistently felt the need to get someone’s...

Tonight I had the WORST service ever!! They close at 10pm which is fine cause we eat fast and I just wanted to eat sushi real fast with my daughter. We came in at 9:17 and the hostess, who ended up being our server, looks at her watch and acted like she didn't want us there, which she didn't. She goes super rudely last call is at 9:30 and we close at 10pm. Which I respond okay that's fine. She sat us and we don't see her for 10min. I see her walking around staring at her watch and hurrying up other people who came in to sit while still looking at her watch saying the same thing to them. I finally order the food and when it came, it wasn't even the right order!! We were served super small 6 rice bites with fish on top and all that was $20. We ordered sushi! We order the same thing every time we come! That barely looked like an appetizer!! We finished eating at 9:40 on the dot and the server NEVER came to check on us. I was afraid to say anything about my order being wrong cause I didn't want anybody spitting in my food. So we wait another 10 min which is 9:50 now and she finally comes with the check. Doesn't ask how the food was, nothing! My daughter starts crying a little saying she's still hungry and I had to go to a 7/11 to get her more food. So no I totally didn't tip this server.
