So I have enjoyed motel 6 throughout the country- with little to no issues. I recently needed to stay in town where I work,so my wife could get some much needed surgery and I could still work,as this is the only way she would do it!(I was not being an insensitive husband I swear!) I work over an hour away from home each way,so my wife and I decided to book a room in Wilsonville Motel 6. Well first, they had no room that was available for the 4 days I needed,so clerk put us in a room,it was late, and would find us a single room in am for other 3 days. My wife got up to get ready for the hospital and the bathroom was something out of a nightmare. There was matted hair in old soap rings on the walls was patches of thick soap scum, someone else had used soap in drain and maid left it there, they had ripped out the tub mat,and it was the only clean part of the tub. There were hairs in the towels, and pee on the floor behind toilet in a full puddle and drops of "red"(probably blood) on floor in front of toilet. No joke. On top of that, there was an envelope left out with the maid's name on it, asking for me to directly leave tip for the excellent cleaning work! I took photos, and had to find another hotel 15 mins away on graduation weekend!Additional con, curtains for room come in two forms, none and vampire style. You must either leave window coverings wide open as if you are in an observatory,or dark as the night! Not cool. A room should have access to privacy and natural light, respectively. I sent photos and videos of the issues to "Guest Relations",for which I was told I would need to wait up to 5 days before Wilsonville Motel 6 would address my complaint, and that this motel would love a chance to make it right by allowing a manager to contact us about the stay. Of course we agreed,as to try and find out why these experienced problems occurred. This is the Motel 6 "get it right" policy? I'm disgusted with the following up of a complaint, that berates the customer. We we're asking simply for a refund of the night in Wilsonville with the biohazard bathroom,We we're offered 38$ refund, over a week later by some guest helper, when Wilsonville refused to respond to the photos/complaint, and illegal demand for tip by cleaning services. I think the horrendous accommodations- warrant some relief.I am saddened that people can treat customers this way,and it be acceptable and excusable to them- and the further unwillingness to make it right does not boad well for a customer centric hospitality industry business. I didn't even ask for full refund, even though this once I was probably due it-I only asked for what i believe was fair, shame on you motel 6, franchise or no,treat your customers right! I will be leaving this review, along with the photos of the rooms so that other patrons may not...
Read moreWe arrived at the Motel 6 in Wilsonville after 5pm on 6/22/18 and were checking out Monday, 6/25. We were given cards for our room. The room was still being cleaned. We had traveled from the airport in Portland. My husband said he had to go to the bathroom and was told there were no public restrooms. He said it was alright. After another 20 minutes I said I really had to go to the bathroom and was told to go to the service station that the public was not allowed to use the employees' restroom. I had already been given a $10 credit, since I asked to be compensated for the room not being ready. I admit I was cranky. And asked to speak to the mgr. When Alyssa was talking on the phone she told the mgr she had already given a $10 credit and I was talking to her at the same time saying that was because the room was not ready. When the Robert Conrad came down it was much the same. Toilet only for employees because might not be clean, I said would the service station be cleaner. We had our luggage on a cart and he said we could leave it there. There was no way we were going to do that. Another person staying there said we could use her room to go to the bathroom after I said I had had bladder cancer and needed a restroom. Mr. Conrad said he would refund us and we could go somewhere else. I said a friend said Best Western had 10 rooms available but I had already called while waiting for our room and they only had 1 room left for the length of our stay. Mr. Conrad said they were full and only had -can't remember the number he gave-and they had 74 rooms so I could do the calculation for how busy the housekeepers were. Since I had already been rude-I didn't say, it was a management problem to not have staff to clean the rooms. Mr. Conrad, said something about what did I think of the price. Arrogant son-of-a-gun that he was! I was headed up to the other lady's room when our room was finally ready after 5:30pm. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because of the price and because the gals who cleaned the room were very sweet. On Sunday (6/24/18) afternoon when we came to our room after 4pm, it had not been cleaned-we asked for clean towels and told them since we were leaving in the morning the beds need not be made up. The housekeeper came very quickly with the towels and said something to my husband that not all those scheduled for housekeeping showed up for work. We were NOT happy with the stay # of outlets, beds on metal...
Read moreI needed a place for one night, I arrived around 8 PM, there were people standing around the small entrance area smoking and people that were right inside the front doors at the little seating area that just seemed to be hanging around charging their phones. The girl at the front desk was OK, I got checked in and asked for a luggage cart. Apparently there is only one for the entire hotel, she called the person that had it last to see if they could bring it down, I waited for a little bit but was exhausted and just wanted to get settled so I decided to skip the wait. I got to my room, at first glance everything seemed OK, I went to turn on the fan in the room for fresh air and noticed a bunch of debris that looked like disintegrated dark grey foam filters from the the fan itself as well as just a bunch of dirt. I changed my mind and left the fan off for fear the stuff would blow into the room. I went to turn back the sheets, the first thing I saw was what appeared to be some sort of a dry bodily fluid containing blood on the top sheet. Then I kept seeing dark hairs all over the bed and little tiny black specs of what seemed like flea dirt from an animal or something similar. I called the front desk and told the woman what I found and asked if I could get a set of clean sheets, she brought them up quickly and was helping me change the bed after I showed her what I saw. She explained that maybe the maids were young and inexperienced and didn't get the hair off the sheets before they washed them. As we were changing the bed, the mattress pad seemed old and not clean, the mattress was in the same shape. I stopped and told the girl that I would like to just get a refund and try to go someplace else. I said I didn't feel like things were very clean. I honestly felt like somebody had been in the bed and the sheets did not get changed. She said she understood, I gathered my things got my refund and left. Overall I have to say the place just felt like someplace I would run into in a not so nice part of town. I went a few blocks down the road and spent $30 more at the Holiday Inn for an extremely different, much better experience. The woman at the counter was professionally dressed and cheerful with great customer service. They had multiple luggage racks, the rooms were very clean and very updated, I was super happy I made the switch. I have to say Motel 6 could really stand to make a few...
