Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Yakima
Stayed Sunday 1/30/22 to Tuesday 2/1/22 in the King Guest Room with Whirlpool tub (Room 228).
Had a view of the west side of town and the trampoline park. Window curtains do close for darkness during the day (located behind sheer curtains).
The soaking tub in room was awesome, minus the placement of the jets when on the water flowing out of the jets did not even hit my body and definitely a selling point for me when booking this trip. The water temp was hot and can fit two people 5'11 and 6'0 somewhat comfortably, but not fully submerged in water. Water here is a bit hard and can dry out the skin. also had a big shower in room. Toilet would make noises for a while whenever it would flush. Toiletries available.
King bed was awesome, blankets were the best I've ever experienced staying at a hotel, pillows were down and personally not my favorite, but there were four. Extra blanket available in closet as well as ironing board, iron and bag stand. Office desk and chair. basic tiny coffee maker with coffee, cups and ice bucket available in room. Mini refrigerator and microwave available in room. TV had adequate channels, but couldn't figure out how to turn on the CCs, premium channels showtime (didn't always work awesome for app streaming. Room was set at 72 degrees and a good temp for our stay but room temp is controllable.
Front desk staff was friendly and helpful (gave me a free toothbrush as I forgot mine at home), check in was easy. I booked the room for two occupants online, but when I showed up I was Solo and only received one key card. Didn't have a chance to grab breakfast during my stay. There is a small convenience corner next to the front desk.
Easily seen in from the street.
Wheelchair accessible and parking available on site.
Good for young children.
Didn't get a chance to check out any other amenities of the hotel.
Sunday into Monday was the most quiet night/morning. Monday I could hear people in the hallway coming and going. Ample parking.
Parking well lit at night. Bob's Burger and brews is the only restaurant super close.
Night time temps in the low 20s and highest day temp was 41 degrees. Bare roads but snow piled up everywhere else.
Hiking/ snowshoeing available within walking distance as well as a short 40 min drive away.
This hotel is close to highway...

We expect it will arrive within the hour and we will run it up to you!" Ok, so it's definitely not ideal but things happen. My daughter used shampoo as hand soap as we waited, I really wanted an immediate shower but was patient. An hour passed then I went downstairs and a maid said, "The supply truck still hasn't come." so I just went out and bought a bar of soap at Walmart on my own. Next morning @ checkout when I asked if the soap ever came (none was ever brought to my room), the clerk didn't apologize but just said, "Yeah the truck came kinda late, after I left". When I suggested that maybe next time THEY pre-emptively send someone out to Walmart to get soap for guests, he said "Oh no way, we can't do that - it has to be special brand soap." Wow. Then the other clerk grabbed two bars of soap and in a mocking tone she said "Take it, you paid for it!" Are you kidding me?! WHAT I PAID FOR was a room where I could IMMEDIATELY take care of toilet needs and wash my hands and shower. Clueless Yakima staff deserve ZERO stars for having ZERO concept of why patrons pay for hotel SERVICE. Other than that the hotel was 3.5 star, unusual for Marriott. A/C was noisy. But that staff ought to be fired. All I wanted was an admission that they screwed up, but they acted like I was an unreasonable moron for expecting...
