I've traveled 45 States and 30+ countries. There are about five hotels I will not stay again, this being one of them. Four being substandard or other problems, and this one for management/staff. Upon check-in after a particularly long drive, I usually never do this but my eyes were itchy and I was apparently rubbing them. I was told by a person walking by into the office to stop this, and not in a nice way. Who does that? On check out, after both my sink and shower BOTH clogged and I was standing in ankle deep water after my shower, not a great way to start your day to say the least, I informed the front desk upon check out. The person seemed much more concerned as to WHEN this happened other than the clogs themselves, making it seem I need to do a better job reporting. I informed them I recognized the tub had a built in stopper and I jiggled the handle to no avail. Lastly you do not need to know when it's 8am, apparently that's when housekeeping shows up, and they are not the quietest bunch because I had to poke my head out my room to see what all the commotion was about. The room was nice and the AC worked great, other than my problem and did have a fridge and microwave. I will visit Cherokee again, but next time I will just have to...
Read moreMade last minute reservations via Harrah’s. The reservation guy had seemed almost apologetic saying with my calling last minute this was all that was available. I read the reviews and had some concern. However, wife and I had no problem with it. We were happy to get a place to be able to stay overnight, verses having to drive 4 hours home after a night of gambling. Check-in was very pleasant with a young female that was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. There was also a gentleman taking care of other check-ins that seemed to possess the same qualities. Room was clean and meet all of our needs. Beds had to be nearly new and slept as good as any bed I have ever slept in at Harrah’s. No issues whatsoever. Please understand it was a room to sleep in, have a clean bathroom and a little TV. There were no extra amenities (was a nice large outside pool which we didn’t use), no restaurants, clubs or bars. So, if that is important to your stay, this isn’t the place. But if you want a nice clean property, to get a quality night of sleep, I would recommend this property. Upon departure same staff and same...
Read moreMy fiancee and I stayed one night last Saturday after going to an Alice Cooper concert at the casino. We stayed in room 116. We arrived late, around midnight. The bearded guy(sorry, I forgot his name) at the desk was super nice and had all of our things ready to go. The lobby has such a nice ambiance. We got to the room and it was super clean, smelled nice, and was roomy. I've got to say the bed was SUPER comfy and I usually have a problem with pillows being uncomfortable, but the ones here were perfect for me. I love that the AC fan had a constant mode and created a nice fan noise all night. We didn't have a problem with this but the walls are super thin. I could hear vacuuming or something the morning after and it was loud, but not a big issue. The morning check out was fast and they were very nice. The cat in the lobby was cute too even though he wouldn't let me pet him and walked away. Lol rude! :) Overall, the price was awesome for the quality we received. This isn't anything fancy and I was very leery when booking, but I will be booking here...
