We got checked in at 4:00pm. When they say 4:00pm they mean it as our room was not ready any earlier. We got settled into our room, unpacked, got our coffee maker set up, our iPads and cell phone charging and finally could relax...or so we thought. There is a tag placed on the water bottles that state ācomplementary for our members.ā We needed two additional bottles of water, so my wife went down to the front desk to request them. She was informed that sheād have to purchase them. What? We are staying in a premium room and we are rewards members, too. She returned empty handed. Next, she entered the bath room and it smelled like sewage, additionally, the floor outside the bathroom was sticky enough that our shoes became adhered to it. I called the front desk to explain the issues and they offered us another room of the same class. At first we were hesitant because we were all unpacked, and settled in, but I agreed to move. After packing up our belongings the phone rings and itās the front desk calling to say they donāt have any rooms of the same class, but we can be downgraded. Now, why offer to move us before checking to see if another room was available? This is completely thoughtless and downright rude. The only other option was to send maintenance and housekeeping to see what they could do. Maintenance arrived and poured something into the drains that seemed to quell the stench. Housekeeping arrived shortly thereafter and mopped the floor to clean up what was previously spilled and stuck there. My wife asked the housekeeping lady if we could have additional water and her reply was, āhow many would you like?ā What? As many as weād like and we werenāt informed that we needed to pay for it? So if Iām understanding this correctly, then the front desk will make you pay for water and housekeeping will give it to you as a room amenity. This is Arizona and we donāt drink tap water, and most especially if itās laden with chlorine and fluoride. We donāt voluntarily put poisonous chemicals into ourselves. This is a hotel that serves humans that live and visit Arizona. Humans have been known to require voluminous amounts of water daily...especially in the desert lands of Arizona. The WiFi bogs down with much difficulty streaming, and freezes at times. Now, after attempting to use it last evening I can say that is downright terrible it would not load. The number one reason we use a hotel is to sleep, the the bed is excellent. Itās comfortable and supportive. There are a choice of two types of pillows. One being foam and not too comfortable and the other is some type of synthetic filling and is softer and more comfortable. Back to the sewer odor. It immediately struck our olfactory receptors once we opened to door and entered the hallway on the third floor. The entire floor emanated the stench. By the time we returned in the afternoon it was clear that the hall had been sprayed with some type of air freshener that now smelled of orange-like sewage. The elevators are no respite from the stench, either. Next morning the full bloom of sewage is back. I called the front desk to ask about it and, of course, they played dumb. They knew nothing about it and had no other guests complain of it. What can I say? I asked my wife if it was only my nose that was smelling sewage and she promptly confirmed the malodorous air. Well, my call to the front desk was forwarded to Albert, who,is the head of maintenance. He visited our room to explain that there has been a sewage issue for two years that theyāve been trying to solve. In particular it was affecting the the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors in the area in which our room is located. The fro desk gave me bs twice and maintenance gave me the truth. The buffet breakfast was first rate. There was no skimping in this department. In the event that you havenāt surmised whether or not we will use this hotel again, Iāll let...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGot to this hotel earlier than anticipated and was greeted by Mark. He is literally the kindest person and most welcoming Iāve met at the front desk of any hotel. I had driven a long way and have to be out here for work, so to be let into my room earlier when the hotel down the street wants to charge extra, it was very pleasant and surprising to be able to get in without any dilemma. He gave me so much info and told me about the possibility of getting a corporate rate for traveling for work if I wanted to talk to management. He told me about the area in depth and was extremely friendly even when he had multiple things he was doing at once. My room is spacious, nice, and I love the bathroom layout here. Very central location for the Yuma shopping center, casinos, and freeway access. The breakfast set up is outstanding and the food was really good! I come to Yuma typically 24-30 days in a calendar year and intend to stay here as often as the work budget/pricing will allow!
Excellent experience so far and I still have another night here.
Also the gentleman who works the overnight shift was very kind when I came downstairs for something! Super easy to talk to and the hotel just is extremely welcoming overall and it makes you feel comfortable to sit in the lobby for a few minutes or even just walk around to get some extra steps in, etc.
Indoor and outdoor pools, gym, free laundry. Itās literally an ideal...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe hotel is good, bed and linens are very comfy. Staff is excellent. They need to hire more housekeepers however. Unlike any other hotel I've been to anywhere in the world, they only appear to start doing the rooms at about 2 pm or something. Normally the room is cleaned at 9 or 10 am when guests are out. I am here on business, and when I return at 3 pm (after having left at 5:30), I have a lot of paperwork to do and really don't need to be kicked out at 5 pm so they can do the room at that absurd hour. After 3 days they leave you a note or call you even after having told the front desk your schedule (and they supposedly put in in the computer).||Breakfast and the restaurant is excellent. Attached is a picture of the water after showering. Drain hardly functions. Ice and vending rooms have no vending whatsoever. No microwave in the room, only one per floor. Two washers (one of which was broken) and two dryers for entire hotel. If it weren't for their excellent, friendly staff (Valentino, Luis, and the ladies at breakfast should all get a raise) they would get 3 stars. Really either need to drop their "3 day" rule and leave guests in peace or do the rooms in a timely manner, in the late morning like every...
