First let me start with the pros: Alex at the front desk is PHENOMENAL. Not only is he personable and easy to talk to but he’s beyond PROFESSIONAL!! He LISTENED to our needs and accommodated us in every way he possibly could. His communication skills are up to par and he handles himself VERY well, again, super professional and also very courteous. I cannot say enough good things about him! Well… I could but then I’d be writing a mini novel 😂 The hotel is very clean and even smells clean!! The pool opens early and stays open LATE! Personally, I love that because I love the water lol If you can, make sure you meet Alex during your stay, he’s awesome! Wasn’t sure if I had mentioned him yet Animal friendly!! They even have a potty spot for the dogs with complimentary “poop station”. This hotel is within walking distance to just about everything! You have everything you need without having to rent a car or call a cab, even a movie theatre. Did I mention Alex? He’s wonderful Nice lobby with plenty of seating if you wanted to visit with other guests or friends Be sure to get a room with a balcony, def worth it in my opinion Thanks to Alex, our less than desirable trip ended WONDERFULLY… and do you know why? Because he LISTENED!!! Thank you Alex!! Everything looks exactly like the pictures

Now for the cons: The hotel needs some updating, HOWEVER, it’s clean!! And that means a lot! Also, the chairs in the room are NOT worn, so that’s awesome too. It appears as though the rooms have been updated but the halls and doors haven’t. But I’m my opinion that’s okay, because it’s not like we are spending much time in the halls lol. The jacuzzi jets didn’t seem to work and that was disappointing, but the water was hot so I wasn’t too unhappy The lounge chairs at the pool definitely need to be replaced and there needs to be a couple more umbrellas as my ginger headed boyfriend ended up just sitting in the sun (he wanted to sit near me) while my Hispanic tail was catching the sun rays!!!

In conclusion: My boyfriend and I had a wonderful experience. The beds were comfortable, the sheets seemed clean, the mattresses didn’t seem old, they were NOT sagging, thankfully! (We had just came from the Quechan resort and their mattresses appear to not have been replaced since they built the place!) The lamps/nightstands were updated to accommodate our phone chargers, laptop charger, watch charger, etc. I’m not sure if I mentioned Alex but he works at the front desk and he’s absolutely remarkable and great at his job!!

To MANAGEMENT: As a business owner myself, I’m going to say that Alex needs MUCH MORE than just a pat on the back or a small bonus for this review, he needs to be promoted. If he isn’t in management already, he definitely needs to be. Even if he manages a different department, I have full confidence that he could learn anything you teach him and will always do his best to make sure the job gets done correctly. If I could hire him (I live in TN) to work for me, I would!! He’s not an employee you...

The most dissapointing experience in many years... I was pretty comfortable booking a stay at Shilo Inn Yuma, because of good experiences I had in the past with a number of other Shilo locations in the West. Unfortunately, this one turned out to be a complete disappointment and does not come close to any of those previous stays. Here are few details that may help you to make your own decision:

If you need internet access for work or pleasure while you are traveling - look elsewhere. The so called "WiFi" at Shilo Yuma is virtually nonexistent. Don't get me wrong - you can see WiFi connections in you network settings, but it is completely open and unprotected connection. Not even a rudimentary, simple password protection. Additionally, the speed of the connection is about as fast as paint drying. If you are lucky enough to connect and have some service, it just cuts out at random intervals for no reason. Absolutely unusable for anything, even simplest web browsing. If you need to do any work over the web (Zoom meetings, data transfer, etc.), you will not enjoy this experience.

Our key cards just randomly stopped working. Two separate rooms, multiple people with their own cards. All quit working after few days. We did not spend any time near magnets, or high voltage systems. Just old hotel hardware. The receptionist says - Yeah, it does it sometimes. We really don't know why...

If you are a TV fan, who is used to HD TV, you'll enjoy a memory trip to see very old grainy looking TV screens. I honestly don't recall when was the last time I've seen such poor picture quality. Perhaps when my old cathode tube TV was connected to the rabbit ears antennae...

The entire infrastructure of the hotel seems to be falling apart. AC knobs do not work well. You have to move three spaces past the setting you're trying to have for something to finally click. Faucets on the sink are loose with the handles that wobble and turn completely past where the normal stop is. Bathroom fan sounds about as loud as the Marines jets flying overhead.

Parking lot is absolutely inadequate for the hotel size. Have to park near a next door restorant because all other spaces are taken.

On top of that there is no continental breakfast or any food servise at this hotel. I've stayed in many hotels that had that option included for much lower price Shilo charges for this place.

I'm definitely NOT staying here again. I'm not sure yet, if Shilo Inn had lost me as their customer everywhere else, but this one is a...

I travel for work frequently so, I stay in many hotels. I have stayed in five star and two star hotels many times.

My five star rating for this hotel is really based on the service. The staff at the Shilo INN was to me nothing short of excellent.

We were staying at the Shilo after three other hotels in Yuma and found this a perfect match for what we needed. While waiting for our home purchase to close, the Shilo Inn became our home away from from home for roughly a month. My wife, our big black furry bear of a pup were treated well by very friendly staff on every single visit back from California.

The staff from the hotel grounds keepers to the cleaning crew and front desk professionals were nothing short of awesome. And they just loved our pup. And our pup loved the dog area that had gorgeous green grass and plenty of room for all 100 pounds to run and rid herself of energy.

We used the mini suites on very visit unless I was alone. Then I used the single rooms. The balconies made things nice and made you feel less like living in a box.

Is the Shilo a five star hotel? No it isn't. Bu I will tell you the staff treat it like it is. Our room and the grounds were always clean. The staff were always courteous even when dealing with that occasional pain in the butt customer. ( I saw with my own eyes. Go home Karen, and just be nice)

This is a well maintained older hotel that isn't without faults. But treating the staff with respect will definitely get you the required attention or repairs you need.

If staying in Yuma is what you need to do, I recommend this hotel. Sorry, no breakfast at the hotel, but there are plenty of places with in walking distance that will be happy to...

Shilo Inn used to be our #1 choice for a place to stay in Yuma, as far back as 2012. Friendly staff, great location, good prices. excellent full breakfasts, nice large rooms, and a huge clean pool. Sadly, everything but the staff has changed since Covid. For breakfast, you now have a choice of two different small pre-packaged muffins and a pot of coffee, if you get to the lobby before 9 am. The rooms are run down and tired; there were two small scruffy towels and a small tube of liquid soap in the bathroom. The hair dryer was missing as was the ceiling smoke alarm. Internet service was sketchy, and the flat screen TV, while it has a lot of channels, was low-res and it froze a lot. The pool is green and closed, but the staff was insistent that it would be open "Tomorrow." We stayed here two nights; the pool just got greener. There are almost zero lights in the parking lot but thankfully we were able to park close to the main entrance, as there were maybe 10 other vehicles in the lot overnight. We love the location but I think we won't be back. There were signs indicating that there was no soap in the laundry room and the steam room was out of order. Two stars, only because the staff is still friendly, the bed didn't squeak, and our car didn't get broken into in the dark parking lot. Otherwise, it's considerably overpriced and seriously lacking in value. All the nice apologies from the staff just don't make up for all the shortcomings.

The best hotel I've stayed in so far in my whole life. Beautiful rooms for a reasonable price. Not gross at all (except one dead roach under the couch, but it's bound to happen when you're in Arizona). Whatever room you're in, you get a great view. Even if you look at from your balcony and see the parking lot; you still see the beautiful Arizona sky. The suites have a huge separate kitchen that includes; a full-size fridge, an oven/stove, microwave, dishwasher, and cupboards stocked with dishes, cooking pots and pans and silverware. You also get a complimentary breakfast which consists of; sausage patties, egg patties, biscuits, juice, cereal (and milk), danishes, fruit, bagels and toast, muffins and coffee or tea. There's also a free exercise room connected to the lobby. Which guest can use until 10 PM. Along with a heated pool and jacuzzi which is also open until 10 PM. At the end of the day, this is an amazing hotel with very nice front desk people (Like Heather) and kind night-guards (Jim and Daryl). The outdoor cats are just an extra.

We have opted to stay at Shilo Inns in Yuma several times in the past. Typically because of the competitive price, pet friendly status (and their pet fee is reasonable $15) and its close proximity to the Palms shopping center. This was the first time in a year, and may well be our last. Front desk staff was wonderful, as has always been our experience. The room however, not so much. Not sure if the air conditioning doesn’t work or is set, but room stayed very warm all night. Wallpaper is peeling badly. Worst was there was only two towels. My husband showered first and grabbed the top one on the rack to dry himself. He didn’t realize until he was using it how dirty it was. We don’t know if it was stained that badly and just reused or if it was a dirty towel that had been refilled and put up on the rack. Either way, it was pretty appalling and needless to say he was not amused.
