I'm normally an RV traveler, and when my father and I decided to stay here for an end of week trip, it wasn't half bad. I will say the exterior of the property was not that pleasing, Surprisingly, the room was actually very clean and looks to have been recently renovated. If it's not a recent renovation, it's holding up very well. No complaints about how the room looks. The cleanliness of the room was absolutely spotless. That surprised me, considering I watch a lot of hotel reviews online, and budget hotels don't always tend to be consistent in that regard.
One of my favorite features of the entire room was the smart TV that allowed YouTube connectivity. That was pretty much the only feature I used on it. The HVAC unit was a general electric unit. When I first arrived, the controls on board didn't appear to be active. But then I realized that it's controlled by a wall thermostat that looked like it was installed after the fact. It did work just as it should have, so no complaints there.
I will mention a few of the minor issues that I encountered in my room. That wasn't a huge problem for me, just for the sake of the review. Both of which were in the bathroom. One of the two ceiling bulbs was not working, but it wasn't a big problem because the one that was working with supplying more than enough light. I will say, however, on a more serious note that the showerhead was loose from the wall. You can see that in my video. Although I am 6'0", and it was mounted very high, it didn't really matter for me. That's something that I'm sure maintenance will address, given how spotless & and perfect the rest of the room seemed to be.
The location rating was 2 stars because it's Yuma. It's not the most luxurious place in the world. When we first arrived around 11pm on a Thursday night, there was a lot of drag racing going on in the parking lot adjacent to the facility. That wasn't a great first impression in terms of the location. That's not on the hotel, but it's still a point worth mentioning.
Service had absolutely zero flaws in it. That seems to be a consistent theme with the rest of the reviews. Bravo to the team here.
There is also an on-site bar right next to the pool that was phenomenal. They actually gave out two complimentary beers per room. The only downside is they're only open 3 days during the week for limited hours. I'm not sure if that flexuates based on how much traffic they get. Nevertheless, it is a minor inconvenience, but not a complete deal breaker at all.
The exterior of the property is starting to show its age quite a bit. Nothing to a severe point, but if the inside of the rooms look that good, It wouldn't hurt to eventually get the outside renovated as well. It's nowhere near disgusting but definitely worn down.
This was quite a change from the last hotel that I stayed in a few years ago. That was the Riverside in Laughlin, Nevada. This is definitely an improvement over the last one. I'm not the greatest hospitality expert because I travel in RVs far more than I stay in hotels. That being said, I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a quick stay. Especially if you're looking to stay on a tight budget. The other budget hotels in the area range from a Super 8 to old 70s motels that i'm pretty sure wouldn't be much better than this at all.
Here is my video of the room tour I made: Room 215....

The hotel advertises itself as "all suite", but in no way is it "all suite" - not by any definition. and the rooms that are "regular" are really bad, especially for the price they ask. We were put in one room and had to move because of bugs, then the second room was way worse - there were bugs everywhere (flying bugs, so not really the hotels fault, but really gross) - probably because the doors did not close properly and there were gaps in the door frame. the beds in both of the rooms they tried to put us in were SO OLD, I have stayed in dive motels with better beds. they sagged so much in the middle that just looking at them let you know that you were not going to sleep well there and when you tried sitting on them you confirmed that it would be better to sleep on the floor (with the bugs). the furniture in one of the rooms was broken to such a degree that it looked like there had been a fight or something in that room. finally after two tries at the "regular" rooms, they moved us to a suite, which was much better - very nice, beautiful bathroom, better beds (still clearly old, soft and saggy, but better and fine for sleeping). But those rooms are normally pricey and I would NOT pay more for the suites, as they are not really super nice - the furniture is tired (the couch looked like it was twenty years old and well used for all those years), the lighting is poor (no desk lighting at all) there are rat traps outside all the rooms (again, probably just a factor of where they are located, but still gross) the grounds are beautiful and the staff are really helpful - although there was only one person working, so it took over an hour to find us a room we could sleep in (I have NEVER had to change rooms in a hotel before, but there was no way we could sleep in the first two rooms they offered us), the staff were polite and so nice. This hotel has done an excellent job of hiring amazingly great people, so that's a plus. the breakfast room is nice and the people working there are super friendly. the food is good, possibly better than most free buffets. but the rooms are the reason you stay at a hotel and there are clear problems here - just make sure if you stay here that you get a super good rate and check your room to make sure it is one of the better ones before you agree to stay. I don't feel like this hotel is worth what they are charging, especially with lots of brand new hotels nearby - including the other Best Western just ten minutes away (stayed there a previous trip and it is awesome and cheaper, but far from the main area of town). shout out to the amazing staff - thanks for trying so hard to help us. sorry the rooms are in such poor shape and we made you...
Read moreWe stayed here for a dental visit to Algodones. We were happily surprised by the BW Hotel, the staff, the amenities, the value and the location all exceeded our expectations!! It was such a pleasant stay and definitely felt like more of a vacation than a dental visit. Each staff member was professional, friendly, helpful and genuinely welcoming. We felt safe at the location and it was clean and conveniently located to many good restaurant options, a movie theater, a mini outlet center, among other amenities that you might need. Angry Crab next door OMG!! SO GOOD! Also, we had a rental car that we parked there. There is ample, well lit parking that felt and was safe at night. I also noticed an employee routinely making rounds throughout our stay checking on things and made light chit chat, much appreciated! : ) We upgraded to a spa jet tub king room which was very spacious and well appointed. Not to mention a great value! It featured a separate living room with couch and TV, a kitchen with fridge/cooktop/microwave/sink, etc. It offered a separate bath tub/shower/toilet room. The spacious bedroom had a closet, TV, dresser, nice clean jet tub, and free standing sink. The bed and linen was comfortable. I would have appreciated newer towels, but that's no big deal, I'm picky, and it was a budget hotel. Ample lighting throughout the room and it was clean and comfortable for our multiple day stay. It was nice to have the extra TV and extra space while my husband was recovering from his dental work. The pool is SO refreshing, clean and most of the time I had it to myself! I didn't try to hot tub, since it was so warm outside, but looked clean and inviting. There are self serve paid laundry services onsite, which came in handy for our stay. The lobby has a small, but nice array of any small snack or cold beverage, candy or detergent you may need. But BY FAR the STAR of the show and highlight of our visit was the complimentary breakfast each morning!!!! These ladies are the brightest, warmest, most welcoming, happy, and delightful employees this hotel or any for that matter has to offer! We were offered a vast array of hot/cold/to go options, which all were all super fresh, well stocked, easy to access, VERY CLEAN, delicious, nutritious and had wonderful soft options for my husband that had extensive dental work done. They were so kind and sweet, be sure to leave them a generous tip if you feel inclined as we did, they go above and beyond and it really shows! : ) We plan to stay here again in a few months for our follow up visit and are looking forward to it! Thanks for having...
