I was very disappointed with my recent stay at the Hampton. This past weekend, I got married in Zanesville and blocked out rooms for my wedding guests. I had several guests call me and tell me that the hotel said there was no wedding staying at the hotel even though around 15 to 20 rooms had been booked. When I called to discuss I had a very rude woman tell me that I was wrong and the hotel was completely booked so no more of my guests could have rooms. Interesting enough, I could go online still and book rooms. She refused to give my guests the blocked rate, which was bogus by the way, booking through AAA was cheaper than our group rate. I asked for a manager to call me the next morning, never happened. Closer to the wedding I had at least 4 different guests comment and tell me how rude the staff was when they called in and talked to them on the phone. When we arrived to the hotel, the breakfast was subpar & the elevator continued to get stuck. I had guests that were unable to walk up stairs and the hotel was less than accommodating. I also wanted to give all guests a welcome gift for staying in the hotel but they didn’t have any information on who was in our party. It was disorganized and a complete waste of money for the customer service I and my guests received. I would never recommend this hotel to any wedding party or guests. I wish I would have stayed at any other hotel than the Hampton and would never return again. It’s a shame a small hotel in Zanesville would be so rude to a large group booking 20+ rooms. Thanks for the wedding...
Read moreWe had called ahead to make reservations and explicitly asked for a handicap room, as my sister is completely limited to a wheelchair. Upon arrival they did not have a handicap room ready for us, or any available- apparently whoever booked us didn't list it in the software properly. We agreed to a regular bedroom on the first floor but the bathroom did NOT accommodate her power chair- she couldn't completely shut the door for privacy nor reach the sink. Beds were also VERY tall and if she didn't have a raising chair, getting into bed would have been a challenge.
We were only staying for one night and upon checkout found they had charged us slightly more than what was quoted on the phone, presumably for the room change. We were in a rush and didn't have time to ask about it but we were a bit miffed to pay MORE over a mistake that wasn't our fault.
At least breakfast was hot and the...
Read moreAs far as hotels, you can do a lot better than this place (rooms are small and breakfast at Hampton Inns are not as good as most Marriott places). I stayed here at the end of March, and apparently they decided to charge me for a $5 water bottle because it wasn't in the room when I checked out. 100% truth, there was no water bottle when I checked in. I bring my own water and don't even accept their complimentary water bottle for Diamond members. I brought it up to a man who works there, but he never cared about the issue and just said "I'll look into it" and I never heard back thereafter. I don't particularly care about the $5, but if I'm insisting that there was no bottle of water in the room, then don't think I'm going way out of my way to cheat your hotel of a whopping $5. Sheesh. Hope that $5 makes y'all...
