Oriental Super Buffet — Restaurant in Zanesville

9 times out of 10 when we go here it's on the weekend when we are shopping in Zanesville as we live out of town but we always go there because we know the food is good the people that work there are friendly and nice and it's just all around great especially for it being a buffet but here recently when we have went in the customers that come in to enjoy this food have been rude and snotty and somewhat racial as all I've heard is people speaking badly about the food and about the people that make the food and how if they wanted to speak their own language they can go back to where they came from you know it's very heartbreaking and rude and disrespectful to think that these customers come in for Chinese food and sit there and talk crap about who makes their food and where they came from and that the food is terrible and it looks like crap I just want to say that this place has always been good to me and my family and we don't plan on stopping the tradition on the weekends as we love the food and we were there on mother's Day and it was just a great experience for us and the waitress that came up to the table was just the best waitress ever I waited until she was done speaking and I asked her if she was a mother she told me yes and I told her happy mother's Day and honestly it would look like it was the nicest thing somebody had said to her that day remember people were all human speak kindly about others especially if you don't have anything nice to say don't say it at all the Stephanie is one of the restaurants that I would recommend going to especially around late lunch...

I was driving through Zanesville and spotted this place from the Highway. I was excited to see a Chinese buffet, as they are becoming far and few between. After a quick check of the reviews I decided to give it a try.

I am awarding 2 stars for them simply existing. Like I said, it’s getting harder to find a Chinese buffet. However, beyond existing, that’s about all they had going for them.

Despite it being very busy, most of the dishes were cold and appeared to have been sitting under the heat lamps for some time. There were no distinct flavors amongst the various dishes. Everything tasted the same, or like nothing to put a finer point on it. Never the less, the clientele seemed to be devouring it. My guess is these are the same people who are supplying the high reviews simply because they have not had better.

Lastly, the prices for the fare offered were outrageous. For a single person, the buffet and a drink came to $18.69!! This was on a weekday afternoon mind you, not supper or on a Sunday when you would expect prices to be slightly higher.

When you enter there are multiple signs on the door soliciting for tips before you even get inside. As I mentioned before, my bill came to $18.69. After handing me my check the waitress inquired several times within 10 minutes when I was going to pay. I gave her a $20 and said to keep the change. She scoffed at that and returned my $1.31 which I promptly returned to my...

I've been a regular at Oriental Super Buffet for years, and it's disheartening to see how much the quality has declined recently. While their 4.0-star rating reflects past performance, my recent experiences haven't lived up to the standards they once maintained.

The buffet selection, once a highlight, now feels limited and repetitive. Many of the dishes lack the freshness and flavor I remember, and some items appear to have been sitting out for an extended period. The overall presentation of the buffet has also suffered, with a noticeable lack of attention to detail and cleanliness.

The service, too, has deteriorated. Staff members seem less attentive and responsive than before, and the overall dining experience feels less welcoming. It's a stark contrast to the attentive service I experienced in the past, which always made me feel valued as a customer.

While the all-you-can-eat option and private dining room are still convenient features, they can't compensate for the decline in food quality and service. It's sad to see a once-favorite restaurant lose its appeal, and I hope management takes steps to address these issues and restore Oriental Super Buffet to its former glory.
