Le Vrero | Posada Boutique — Hotel in Colonia del Sacramento

Stayed at this place for two nights while in Colonia. In terms of location was very close to the Ferry and bus terminal which was definitely plus as could walk there easily. ||||I booked one of the terraced rooms which you need to access from the outside. Liked that it had a terrace, but they place felt very old, and I got that dirty feeling I think because of that also I didnt feel like the bathroom was the cleaniest space. Linen etc were also of average quality. When I first got to the room the windows were open and therefore there were 3-4 mosquitos flying around the room. I had to quickly ask reception and they gave me some fly spray to spray the room with. Breakfast was served every morning, but I ended up only having orange juice most days, as the selection wasnt that great - mainly pastries and bread and there were a few flies hanging around it. There was also construction going on next door during that woke me up in the mornings which I wasnt aware of happening.||||The reception were very friendly and gave a map and overview of where to head in Colonia. ||||Tip re Colonia, you can pretty much walk around the whole town in under 2 hours, so only book 1 night if you are planning on staying.||||All in all, I probably wouldnt stay here again as I didnt feel comfortable due to the cleanliness. On the whole it was a lovely small hotel but a little bit spoilt by too many rules and notices. Breakfast was adequate but swiftly cleared away promptly at 1000 ( I have never seen this before anywhere) so no relaxing over a late breakfast here. The location was excellent as 5 minutes walk from ferry/bus terminal and 10 minutes walk to old quarter and less than that to shops/restaurants and bars. Felt a safe area and we loved Colonia. The room was small but very pleasant on the ground floor near reception. I thought it might be noisy but as there was an internal door as well it was very quiet. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom small but shower efficient. The rooms also had an inform safe. Our friends in the room opposite found a substantial amount of money in their safe which had obviously been left there by previous occupants. The staff was rude. We told them it was our wedding anniversary the reason for the trip and they said "it is a private matter" that you can read : we do not care.Differently from all other places we stayed that always asked if there is any special occasion. Morever they do not allow early check in regardless if they have a room available or not because "all guests" are the same. Very weird. Besides, they signed all emails as " the administration " doing everything to do not be identified and not in a personal way as 99% of the hotels which you know who you are talking with. Finally the room has mouldy curtains and the bathroom in special smells it. The bed was not a real double bed but 2 single ones put together and we found quite annoying as we were waking up falling in the the edge...
