Nova Posada — Hotel in Colonia del Sacramento

Recently stayed here just for one night. No one we spoke to was able to converse in English, so getting information was quite difficult although we were given a map and the historical area of Colonia, about a 10 minute walk away was highlighted. The hotel itself is small and doesn't look much from the outside. The reception area is small. We were given a room on the first floor at the front of the building. This was clean but fairly sparse and basic, although the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was a disappointment and none of the staff made any attempt to speak to guests. Nothing cooked - not even an egg. Limited choice of breads,and juice was of a poor quality. The small dining room, with about 6 tables, overlooked a garden area which would be nice in Summer. A little disappointing but I guess hotels in the historical old part of town would be...

It was an absolute pleasure staying at Nova Posada a couple of weeks ago. Marta and Miguel were incredible hosts, who immediately made us feel at home. They are so kind and communicative, and let us know that we could contact them at any time in case of problems. Of course, Colonia was a lovely little city to visit, and there were no problems, but knowing they were there was a great relief. Our room was great, with AC, a nice shower and bathroom, and good sized and comfortable beds. Breakfast, too, was a nice experience. Overall, I would recommend Nova Posada to anyone staying in Colonia! My only negative point is that we only stayed in town one night! Posada Nova is a really lovely little hotel near the old town (10 mins walk) and bus station / ferry terminal (6 mins walk) in Colonia. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, the desk isn't open 24h but they can be contacted on WhatsApp and are nearby to help at any time if needed. The hotel has a pretty little garden with tables and umbrellas and fairy lights, and we spent a very special summer's evening there with a bottle of wine we purchased at the hotel.
