Staying at this hotel was a wonderful experience in itself, and the location was ideally situated in the heart of the old city! Vladimir (manager) was welcoming, provided lots of information, spoke fluent English. The rooms were a step-back-in-time in a good way and perfectly appropriate for your time in Bukhara, plus a hot stove in the room provided ample heat and the hot water was plentiful in the modern bathroom / shower area. In fact, I enjoyed the room so much that sometimes I had to push myself just to leave and stroll through the main tourist sites. These sites were literally steps from the hotel and the whole experience - hotel and old city - was like another world from hundreds of years ago. Great place and one of my favorite hotels of all my travels to several dozen countries. Also, TV had tons of channels from various international regions and the WiFi was solid. Be sure not to confuse staying at this hotel - Emir Hotel in the Old City - with the Grand Emir Hotel in the more modern...
Read moreWe had no real idea of what this hotel was going to be like. All we knew was that it was in a good location. The location did not disappoint. It was moments away from Labi Hovuz. Despite this it was so peaceful. We arrived there in the earlier hours of the morning and Ali from reception came to meet us at the city gate as cars are not allowed there. Equally when we left Vladimir organised our transfer to the train station. Both were not just very nice people but also helpful. The room a good size, was clean, the beds were comfortable and the shower facilities very functional. Breakfast was basic. The fruit which was plentiful could have been better quality for taste. If you are planning to pay by card then just confirm that is ok when checking in as they were not accepting cards when I was there. There are ATMs (cash machines) nearby. A great place at a great price for a...

Nevertheless we were delighted by the standard of our rooms, the excellent service, and the very picturesque property itself. It is very well located, a couple of minutes walk from Lyabi Haus, which is a natural starting or finishing point for a day-long amble past many of Bukhara's high points. We happened to be the only guests, as it was low season, so I suspect that our presence was something of a nuisance, but we could not have been made more welcome. Highly...
