Our stay at this hotel was, overall, a pleasant experience. The property itself boasts an exotic charm, with a design that feels both inviting and unique. The hotel was impeccably clean, and the attention to detail in maintaining the premises was evident.Breakfast was a highlight, offering a rich and diverse selection that included an array of local dishes and traditional sweets—a perfect way to start the day immersed in the local culture. The service at the restaurant was warm and attentive. Special praise goes to the young waiter who welcomed us with a friendly demeanor when we arrived early in the morning, straight from the airport. His hospitality set a positive tone for our stay. The SPA and swimming pool facilities were well-maintained, providing a relaxing escape. However, the water in the pool was colder than expected, which slightly detracted from the overall experience.Regarding the room, or more accurately, rooms, they were consistently clean and tidy. Unfortunately, we encountered an issue with the air conditioning in the first room assigned to us—the heating wasn’t functioning properly. After enduring three hours in an uncomfortably cold room, we informed the reception. The staff responded promptly and professionally, showing us three alternative rooms while sincerely apologizing for the inconvenience. One was of the same category (Classic room), while the other two were Superior rooms, offering more space and better views. We appreciated the opportunity to upgrade and chose one of the Superior rooms. However, when it came to preparing the new room—specifically rearranging the twin beds into a king-size configuration—the housekeeping staff seemed less accommodating. Their attitude was noticeably negative, which was disappointing given the otherwise high level of service throughout the hotel.Despite this hiccup, our stay was enjoyable. The hotel's location is slightly removed from the city center, but it’s easily accessible either by a 15-20 minute walk or a very affordable taxi ride.In summary, while there were a few minor setbacks, the hotel offered a comfortable and memorable stay, with standout service in the restaurant and thoughtful amenities throughout.PS please change the slippers as they are cheap and...

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Mercury Buhara Old Town Hotel, and we can confidently say it exceeded all our expectations! The hotel is beautifully located in the heart of the old town, making it easy to explore the rich history and vibrant culture of the area. The charming architecture and warm ambiance create a welcoming atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home.

The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and impeccably clean, with stunning views of the surrounding sights. Each morning, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast spread that offered a variety of local delicacies, setting the perfect tone for a day of adventure. The staff was friendly and attentive, always ready to assist with any request.

A Special Note About Manager Timur

We must extend a heartfelt thanks to Manager Timur, who truly went above and beyond to ensure our stay was unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, Timur was incredibly welcoming and attentive, offering personalized recommendations for local attractions and dining. His passion for hospitality is evident, and he genuinely cares about each guest's experience. Thanks to his thoughtful suggestions, we discovered hidden gems around the city that we would have otherwise missed. Timur’s dedication and kindness made our stay at the Mercury Buhara Old Town Hotel particularly special.

We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to immerse themselves in the beauty and history of the area while enjoying outstanding service and comfort. We can’t...

I have mixed feelings about this hotel.

The good parts:

The hotel is absolutely beautiful Oyimjon (the lady at the main reception) is very friendly and helpful. The location (although not in the centre of the old town) is only a 10-minute walk away from the old town

The bad parts:

The hotel is new and therefore just not yet 100% ready to welcome guests. Most of the staff (except for some of the reception staff) speaks only very limited English, which is an issue when you have problems with something. Our shower was leaking. So everytime we took a shower the bathroom was flooded. They have a very nice outside area on the ground floor, but the bar there is still closed. We tried eating at the rooftop Restaurant, but the menu is very limited and both of the times we tried eating there, they didn't have what we ordered. While the staff is mostly very friendly, some people were also fairly unfriendly and seemed to lack proper customer service training.(Especially those that seem to be "in charge". ) The minibar is empty (doesn't bother me, but might bother other people) The first morning at breakfast around 9am, they suddenly turned up the volume of the music and played VERY loud party music (seriously??).

CONCLUSION:.

At the moment (April 2023) the hotel is just not worth the money that we paid, to be honest. I hope they fix some issues and give proper training to staff, because for the moment it looks like a group of interns taking care...

When we arrived, we had a few issues, but after staying for a few days, I have to say that the team at the hotel have bent over backwards to deal with them and made this a home from home on our travels. The food has been excellent, and the attention they have given me and my family has struck the perfect balance of hospitality and allowing us our own space to enjoy the hotel. The housekeeping team has dealt with all of my queries and been very flexible with our comings and goings during our stay. Our room has been exceptionally clean and comfortable at all times, and the room has been a delight as a result of their hard work. The building has a great ambience that complements the look and feel of the old town superbly, and effortlessly combines all contemporary comforts. The gym, hamman, and pool facilities are immaculate and a pleasure to use. It brings all these elements together with a modern flair and without losing its distinctive sense of place. We have also had to rearrange the next leg of our trip, and the front desk has been supportive and helpful, answering our questions, providing advice and helping me to print out revised tickets and schedules. All of this is in the “going the extra mile” category, and it's the team's efforts that elevate this hotel from being a good place to stay to being a great place to stay. Their work has helped to remove the stress I brought with me when I arrived and helped me and my family have a fantastic stay in Bukhara.

I can’t trust Mercure hotel due to the trouble as follows. To begin with, I had reserved this hotel certainly because travel agency’s app shows this hotel exactly. But when I come here , some clerks said there was no reservation and started making calls another hotel on her own, insisting that it was a reservation for a hotel with similar name. Finally I ended up having no choice but to stay at lower-grade hotel due to midnight , but it turned out that the alternative hotel staff were also unaware that I had a reservation. After all, aren't they doing this to hide overbookings? We could have prepared to pay extra, but unfortunately they just assumed we were poor and went ahead with it. I'm very disappointed as I thought I had secured a very nice hotel. I don't know if it was an overbooking or if the price was not better than expected , but I think they should have contacted me via app in advance. I cannot tolerate such rude behavior. (I haven’t any intention to say bad to alternative hotel I stayed)

Mercure Bukhara Old Town is really about a 25 minute walk to the actual Old Town. But don’t let that deter you. The walk is through a clean & quiet residential neighbourhood. A husband & wife team baking bread in a rustic oven for sale to locals. A hole-in-the-wall Barber shop with two very young apprentices. Fruits and vegetables from a mini market spill onto the street. Pastries top each other on a simple tray arranged to tempt customers! All this adds to the charm of the walk. Mercure itself is very welcoming. Staff are friendly and efficient. The rooms comfortable. There’s a gym but the joy comes from the basement pool and Hammam. A pleasure to wash away the days tension and clean ourselves from the overdose of tourist sights! The restaurant Saffron has a roof terrace… with delicious local food. And friendly service. A shout out to Umid who is always there to assist!!! Just what we need as explorers of this new frontier!
