Furkhat Guesthouse is a little bit eccentric, but we loved the greenery and the character of the place, and the owner was fantastic. When we arrived he gave us drinks and snacks, and then he showed me the room, and then he gave us melon...all for free. The fruit was never ending! We missed out on breakfast as we had to leave really early, and he gave us a big packed breakfast box to take with us!||||We asked him if there was anywhere to get petrol locally (there is a chronic shortage in Uzbekistan) and he drove us around the city to get some, even though he probably had a million other things to do back at the guesthouse. When I paid for our room he didn’t have change so I told him to keep the change (it was maybe $1 or $2, and we definitely owed him for the petrol excursion), and he absolutely would not take it. We kept going back and forth until eventually he gave us a beer instead of the change. Really nice guy.||||The guesthouse is in a good location, not far from the Registan. Our room was OK, slightly strange decoration and old fashioned bathroom. We didn’t sleep too well because it was so hot and the air conditioning didn’t really work as it was quite old. We did ask the owner for some help getting it working and he did try, but it wasn’t enough to cool the room so we were quite hot and sweaty, but otherwise it was a great place. Can’t beat the level of hospitality, especially...

The room itself was decent though very cramped. It would have been nicer with half the amount of furniture they crammed in there. It was also quite dusty and the sheets had some stains on them. It was shortly after that we realized the toilet wasn’t working. In fairness, they did get a plumber in to fix it after offering us another room that wasn’t as nice as the original one we had.
The breakfast was more of a buffet style but make sure you get there early. If you’re one of the first ones, you get first dibs, otherwise you are essentially eating off the same plates others did before you. I’ve seen some rave reviews on here for the breakfast but very little is fresh. Most of it ordered in or in packaging. The only thing they don’t order in is some porridge, a boiled egg and one fried egg. The bread is typically dry as it’s left out. I ended up eating very little…
The pro is that the staff are very friendly even if they don’t speak much English however for the price we paid, I would say it’s incredibly over...
Read moreDuring my stay three nights there are no electricity every day time, which is very hot when you still want rest in the room without air conditioning. The breakfast everyday are same and very boring with the rotted fruits put on the table everyday. If you walk around their surrounding you will find there are many similar guest houses only cost half price of this one only because this one do better online promotion than others, so I regret I paid three nights at one time without walk around the next day to compare. ||Because basically the price you paid you did not enjoy more service, the last day when I ask them to call taxi to the train station agreed with 18000 som but when the taxi come insist to charge 25000som, if I change to Yandex I will short of time so I have to accept. In conclusion this is not a value for money hotel for their...
