Gold Dream Hotel — Hotel in Da Lat City

We have generally been impressed with the value of accommodation in Vietnam. But this place did not meet expectations on a number of occasions and is far from meeting it’s claimed three star rating. ||||We requested a non-smoking superior room which the rack rate price was (apparently) $88 AUD but paid around $24 with some special deal with Agoda which was a total con.||||Firstly be mindful that the staff insist you surrender your passport and will not accept a photo copy which is not something we have ever experienced in anything above one or two star accom.||||Secondly we did not receive the welcome drink as promised (although we didn’t bother chasing it up)||||Thirdly for a non smoking room, the small pile of cigarette ash was not ideal||||Fourthly the room was dirty, complete with used towels behind the door from the previous guests (photo included) sheets had crust in them, mouldy walls requiring TLC.||||Finally, the shower drains at the opposite end of the bathroom across the floor which is a poor design. I think we may have had an exceptionally awful time in this grimy place or perhaps paid a lot more than others have, but to claim a three star and the rack price this place does is a total con. Very glad...

A little disappointed, we had a room on a floor that was dominated by Chinese, normally couldn't care, however they opened the last two rooms on our floor for gambling and ran through the hotel until all hours. On our last day there at 330am/4am the room across from us wouldn't wake up so these guests were screaming at the top of their lungs and beating down the door, they would have been heard at the front desk but nothing was done. Daĺat was awesome but we will pick another hotel next time. One that caters...

Stayed in this hotel for 20 days.Great room,nicely furnished with comfortable bed,clean,quiet with pleasant view out towards DaLat markets. Staff great and always helpful.Handy position to market,Big C supermarket and some food outlets. Owner of the hotel is lovely and friendly even without much English. Would have stayed longer but a change of circumstances took precedence. Would definitely stay there again.Highly...
