Pros:||- clean room||- friendly and helpful staff at the receptionist counter||||Cons:||- although it is located only 2-3 km from the Old Quarter, but for the whole 3 nights staying there the taxi drivers had difficulty to locate the place. I had problems to commute because we only rely on taxi or motorbike.||- the place is so noisy and uncontrollable. Every morning at 5.30 am the other tenants who are Chinese tourists shout to each other, very annoying and the staff didn't do anything about it.||- the restaurant is super awful. It is smelly that I could smell it when I walked up the stairs and the food is horrible. ||- I made an arrangement for airport transfer when I first arrived. It took me 1 hour to meet the driver after I made several calls to the hotel because I couldn't find the driver. It was mentioned the driver will wait for me at the lobby of arrival, but apparently he waited outside, somewhere can't be seen. And it was not an official transport from the hotel, but just a normal car (probably Grab). The hotel charged me USD20. I felt cheated! Have I known this earlier, I would have booked grab car by myself with half...
Read moreA hidden treasure in a city of hidden treasures. The building was always spotless, the rooms even cleaner. The staff were friendly and affable, ever-willing to give travel or restaurant advice and call a taxi to take you to just where you needed. This is especially important if, like most tourists, you don't speak Vietnamese, and couldn't get the message across to the driver if you tried. Staff were always eager to practice their English, and all spoke quite well. I rarely opened a door myself, and was always greeted by at least one smiling face behind the reception counter. Employees had the tendency to go the "extra mile" with service, willing to let us cancel and re-make plans a half-dozen times without getting frustrated, or once fetching me a cloth to clean mud off my shoes outside, since I couldnt stand the idea of walking on the beautiful tile floor with them.||||Daily breakfasts are delicious and hearty with cooked-to-order pho (I haven't eaten so well in my life) and eggs any style. Breakfast staff were ever-ready to remove an empty plate and replace it with additional food. As a huge breakfast eater, I couldn't have...
Read moreI stayed at this hotel for several weeks as my group explored Hanoi and Vietnam, and the experience couldn’t have been better! Not only was my spacious room fabulous—with incredible views of Hanoi and the nearby park—but it was also fabulously priced. The room was very clean and comfortable, with heating/cooling, television featuring both English and Vietnamese-language channels (very fun!), and a nice bathroom. The hotel was a great retreat from the hustle and bustle of the Hanoi streets, but just a few steps out the door brings you to a delicious pho restaurant, a beautiful temple, several cafes, and many, many shops selling all types of goods. ||||Even better than its location and conditions was the staff. They were extremely warm and helpful, taking time to help me learn Vietnamese phrases, get taxis to explore the city, and give us the scoop on the best restaurants and market prices. From the breakfast crew on the top floor (awesome view!) to the front desk staffers, everyone was very kind and helpful, and we always looked forward to coming “home” to them!||||You really couldn’t ask for...
