Xin chào!
Nestled along the tranquil banks of the Thu Bon River, and tucked away from the bustle of the old town, Karma Song Hoai Resort in Hoi An, Vietnam, offered a peaceful escape and beautiful views of the river from our second-floor rooms each morning. During our two-week stay in October, we experienced a mix of weather, with a week of refreshing rain followed by glorious sunshine. This unique setting provided us with the perfect backdrop for relaxation and exploration. The lush greenery surrounding the property, alongside the pool, added to its tranquil charm.
The staff at Karma Song Hoai truly made our stay exceptional. From the front office to housekeeping, engineering, and F&B, every team member went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcome and well cared for. A special mention goes to Ms. Tri Nguyen from the front office team. Her dedication and commitment to service were impressive, as she consistently had a “Plan B” ready, offering honest and insightful recommendations to make our experience the best it could be. She is a true asset to the resort, and her exceptional service deserves recognition.
Our spacious and impeccably clean room met all our needs as members of Karma and RCI. While we encountered a minor issue with ants—an understandable occurrence given the resort's natural surroundings—the housekeeping team addressed it promptly and efficiently.
Breakfast each morning was simple yet well-curated, with a live egg station that we enjoyed. The resort also planned daily activities, engaging in-house guests with cultural events and experiences. A lovely perk was the complimentary bicycles, perfect for exploring the scenic streets of Hoi An.
Overall, our family left with warm memories and gratitude for the exceptional service, peaceful ambiance, and immersive experiences offered at Karma Song Hoai. For anyone looking to enjoy Hoi An’s rich culture, gastronomy, and genuine hospitality, we highly recommend this wonderful...
Read moreService and rooms. This boutique hotel in Hoi An was the highlight of entire trip to VN. It reminded me of the W in the states but not as pretentious. Our entire family of 4 families with lots of kids and a baby was welcomed with a staff that had the service of a Ritz Carlton but made us feel like family. The hotel rooms themselves were perfect for us in every way. Since it was a new hotel the rooms have a very clean modern yet comfortable design with a gorgeous bathroom. The walk in shower had a large rainfall shower head and a separate, very deep and large stone soak tub. our room had a balcony that opened up to the nice size resort style pool. With the heat, it was perfect for many mini breaks throughout our day and the kids could swim and have fun. The staff was always ready to accommodate us with towels and drinks poolside. The pool was especially beautiful at night. I was able to do yoga in the small garden poolside and then join my family for a swim!
Food. Breakfast was well-suited for us as they had fresh juices, a continental breakfast with all sorts of bread and fresh jams. There was always some type of local noodle soup for breakfast as well as omelets made to order. As a foodie I tried every street food and "must eat" snacks in Hoi An. However, when my mother was under the weather, we ate at the hotel. They had great Com com tay (rice w seafood and vegetables & mushrooms) and stir fried squid and vegetables with decent prices.
Location. The hotel is nestled next to the waterway and in a smaller alley. They provide free bicycles! The center of Hoi An is only 10 minutes away by bike. I walked and it took me about 20 minutes. Whatever you need, the staff can guide you and keep you from being ripped off! I was lantern hunting and they pointed me to a wholesale lantern shop and I saved 50% on the lanterns!!!
All in all. Awesome. My entire family have rated this 5 stars because they...
Read moreThis review isn’t about the Hotel as we were not guests of the establishment so have rated it accordingly.
What the review is about is Karma resorts. We are a retired couple who were targeted on the streets of Hoi An by a male and female, Marcelo and Hanna, we were in essence accosted by them, there was a conversation and we were offered some postcard type offerings with prizes etc. we were subsequently asked to accompany them to this hotel, where we were introduced to another individual and asked to provide personal information we were then passed to a sales rep. At this point we were suspicious of what was occurring but continued the charade of interest. At no time could the sales rep advise us of the corporate or consumer protections available to us, he could not cost the “investment” in dollar terms, someone else would do that. We were shown a glossy publication of all their resorts, all of which we found can be booked online this hotel included. Eventually we were asked to commit without anytime to study a very vague proposal. We declined. The asking price about $135000 plus annual increases and strata fees. I would describe the interaction as a scam similar in style to a pyramid sales scheme. The sales rep was quick deny it was a “Timeshare” it is however fractional ownership, the more you invest the higher the fees and the better the resorts. We were told we had won a number of prizes including two meals at a supposedly upmarket local eatery and a weeks holiday at one of their resorts however they were never validated. Beware not all that glitters is gold...
