Overall a good, basic, friendly place to stay in a good location. It’s very affordable, even for a private room with en-suite, and the rooms are spacious. We had a good stay here despite a rocky start regarding the cleanliness of our first room.||||I don’t expect a hostel to be as clean as a more pricey hotel but our first room (on the top floor) was absolutely filthy. There was a serious damp problem (walls and ceiling covered with it), which gave a strong smell. I used to live in a damp house for years, so I’m accustomed to it, but this was a really severe case and you couldn’t stay in a room that damp if you had a long stay (see pictures). The room obviously hadn’t been cleaned since the previous occupant left but, worse than that, most of the dirt was clearly at least several weeks older e.g the floor, the bathroom, the doors, the bed frame, under the bed, and the fan was completely black. ||||After politely showing the staff the state of the room they were hugely apologetic, explained the cleaning lady had been off sick, and prepared a new room straight away. The new room was SO much better! No damp at all and cleaned to a good standard. We were very happy in this room and had no doubt that it was well cleaned including the bed sheets.||||The rest of our stay was nice. The staff were all helpful and repeatedly apologised for the first room. There are bikes you can rent for free if you pay a deposit for the bike locks. Unfortunately someone had forced my bike lock open one day when I left my bike in town, completely breaking it, but the staff were understanding and still gave me my deposit back. I thought that was really nice as I was expecting them to keep the deposit.||||Would have given it 4 out of 5 had the first room not be...
Read moreThe Little Leo Hostel and Homestay used to be a Homestay only, but has now two super-cheap for-bed-dorms, so its officially a Hostel by Hoi An's laws. They serve very deliciouse local food for brakefast (included in cheap price)! The home-made ginger-tea was especially tasty. The allround-service starts by simple tips for Hoi An and goes to booking of a guided bus-tour to My Son World Heritage. If requested and less guests are hosted the two dorms can be used as two bed personal rooms for little extra price. Bikes are given for FREE, not the safest, but working. But for night trips, you should bring lightning for your own safety. Hoi An is very Bicicle-friendly compared to other places in Vietnam. The center is blocked for cars and motorbikes during daytime and early evening. Little Leo is also still in walking distance from center and from local bus stop. The rooms are quiet clean. Each room has got its own shower and toilette. Only early roosters can disturb late birds a bit in mornings.||We highly recommend to stay in little leo.||All...
Read moreUnfortunately this place appears friendly but it is all fake.||I got told when I arrived the single room that I booked had been upgraded to a better family room, and that it was ‘better’||The next day I got asked to move rooms. I was on my way out and asked if I could just stay in the room I was in, they agreed.||The day after I got up very early to rent a bike, so I could ride in hoi an without much traffic. I was stopped on my way out and told to move rooms.||After a discussion I agreed, but it took time to repack everything up and move so I wasn’t happy.||The new room was nicer but had mosquitoes as there was a gap under the door, when I tried to find things in the room to block it they asked me not to, so I ended up using my beach towel.||On checkout they charged me an extra 20,000. It was a mistake, they said when I questioned it.||But I didn’t feel...
