They don’t even use fitted sheets on the mattress, just lay an unfitted sheet that is too short on top, so your feet touch the mattress. My room did not even have a window. The photo online has what looks like a curtained window, but it is not a window, just a big piece of padded fabric that is actually a headboard. So absolutely gross. An uncleanable cloth/foam surface that every guest has used as a headboard.
The room floor was absolutely disgusting. 20 minutes and my white socks were dark brown. There was a piece of scotch tape on the floor when I got here. Easily removable, if the floor was ever cleaned. It remained untouched for days.
Noise. Noise. Noise. The showers may as well be in your bed. Walls so thin that I hear the faucets turn on, then the water running. If neighbor showers at 2am, you will be awakened at 2am.
Also. This is rebadged as a few different things to change their listing on third party sites. Also called “Nicecy”, but it is this same hotel. They don’t honor Expedia reservation prices but request a “surcharge” when you arrive. Not written anywhere. They just add some...
Read moreI fly to Ho Chi Minh every week for work. I have stayed in many hotels in the Little Tokyo Area but I have made Blue Diamond New my most frequent hotel to stay at for a few reasons:||1) Its brand new. In fact, every week when I visit there is some new amenity in the room, as they continuously improve the standards of their room. Hot water!!! While you may take this for granted, is always on-tap here. Trust me, there are many hotels in this class around HCMC that dont have consistent hot water in the showers!||2) Its great value. Their value rooms dont come with windows but more importantly you do not feel claustrophobic.||3) Great location in the heart of Little Tokyo/ Japan Town in District One.||4) All the staff are very courteous and respectful. Maybe its because I stay there very regularly for a week at a time, the staff do remember me, my name and the restaurant manager , Alex, even knows how I like my eggs...
Read moreUsually I will wait to give a bad review. But the hotel is so terrible I don’t want to wait. They tried to put me in a smaller room than I paid for. It took an hour of arguing to get them to put me in the proper room. And then several hours later they wanted to change my room because they told me there was a problem with the air conditioner. They again tried to put me into a smaller room that I paid for. I had to go to reception and complain and they knew exactly why I was there before I even got to the desk. The rooms are definitely not soundproofed even though they are advertised as such. I could hear the drunken people next-door at 2 AM. Then the construction started at 8 AM inside the hotel. The staff is very nice, but like a lot of hotels in Vietnam, the staff can’t make up for terrible ownership....
