Location: Good. 1 min walk to Ben Thanh market. Breakfast: Basic. Not a wide range. But there is a friendly chef to fry eggs and cook noodle soup upon request. Need to climb stairs from level 9 to level 10 to reach the dining area. It can be very crowded and filled with smoke if there are tour groups staying in the hotel. The staff was kind to offer me only styrofoam boxes when I asked for takeaway to eat in my room. Room: Can hear busy traffic all day till 2-3am if your room faces the main road. Bed was a bit hard. Housekeeping is poor. The glasses were merely rinsed as I can still see the stains and residue. One of glasses was chipped. Floor rug not changed. Toilet bowl not washed. But toiletries and complimentary beverages were topped up daily. Staff: Front desk service needs to be improved. One of the ladies was not friendly when trying to explain to me that I need to pay for my room in advance. Otherwise, my passport will have to be deposited with them. Every evening when I returned to the hotel, they chased me to make payment. However, the hotel has very friendly staff to help you with your heavy luggage and flagging taxi. I will return to this hotel for its location and if my stay is only for one...
Read moreLocation is great. Comfortable hotel. Rooms are clean. Staff is friendly and very attentive. Had issues with my safe -- twice and they fixed it immediately. Internet is fast and reliable. Room also has bolted down safe which can hold a small 12-inch laptop.
Air conditioning works very good. I asked for two room cards and they obliged. Left one in the room master power switch so my aircon was always on. Small fridge provided. Bathroom is small, but acceptable as water (hot & cold) pressure is nice.
TV has mostly high definition channels. CNN, BBC, etc were available. Movie channels were in Vietnamese. Many restaurants in the area. CircleK and FamilyMart convenience stores 20-30 meters away.
Buffet breakfast was good with mainly Vietnamese food. Eggs to order, fruit and bread. Most clients are Vietnamese.
Only annoying issues:
I had since my room had a king-size bed, they had it against the wall and there was no way to move it.
No wall outlets for laptop or phone. Had to request for an extension power cable.
The bathroom has no hooks to hang anything.
Place is not bad if you need a place in the center if town. Be careful in choosing a room with a window, as many...
Read moreStayed at this hotel as a solo traveller for two nights. Check in was pleasant and quick. My room was very comfortable,a very good size with large bed and sofa bed and sitting area.||||Walking distance to the streetfood market and market, this hotel was in the heart of things so it was easy to step out and stroll. ||||Staff at reception were always pleasant and helpful.||||Breakfast was ok, there was not a huge selection. Here I did not find staff very welcoming, this was probably due to the language barrier more than anything else. Having said that, I asked for limes, staff did not understand what I meant, they got someone else to ask me what I wanted. They didn't have limes, but the next morning, I noted that limes were available at breakfast.||||All in all, a wonderful, comfortable stay. I...
