We booked two rooms for 6 nights. The apartment is located in an alley off the main street but is quite safe, even at night. Upon entering, one must press the buzzer to be allowed in. There is no-one to greet you; you just talk into an intercom. All communication is via this way or you can call the owner which was difficult if you do not have access to calls. Throughout our stay, we only saw the cleaner in the morning and another worker once. If you have any issues, it is difficult to contact someone, unlike at a hotel where you can go to Reception for assistance. The rooms were basic with minimal furniture and were clean. Our rooms were 2A and 2B. The rooms were practically similar to what is advertised on the website. There was enough room to put all luggages and the bathroom not small and had space; however, there was nothing to separate the toilet from the shower and consequently, the toilet and floor would be wet. Luckily it was hot and humid so the bathroom would dry quickly. That being said, both rooms had issues with the toilet seat being quite loose. This issue was brought up, and though it was fixed the next day, by the third day the toilet seats were loose again. One of the rooms (2A) also had an ant problem. These were very tiny but there were quite a few of them. We informed the cleaning lady the next day and we thought that this problem was fixed; however, it was not. My daughter woke up one morning with an ant on her face. Not only that, ants had gotten into the bathroom and there were more ants now visible on the floor. We raised this issue again, this time with a male worker who happened to be in the apartment. We expressed our dissatisfaction that spraying insect repellent is not satisfactory. That night, my daughters were eventually moved to the room above, 3A; however, on closer inspection the next morning, there were more ants. It appears that the ants were coming in from the outside as there was an open roof. The ants were seen crawling from the top along wires that were outside the door. The issue was worse in this room but we did not raised it again as we were leaving soon. Our room, 2B, had not issues with ants. It seems that the rooms on the 'A' side had this problem. Apparently, there was also a review written in November 2023 who also commented on the ant problem. The pros of this apartment is that the rooms are spacious and clean, and the owner did try to rectify our concerns ,but the ant problem really made our stay, especially our daughters, unenjoyable. Towards the end of our stay, we felt awkward everytime we saw the cleaning lady. She was no longer friendly towards my daughters and myself, except towards my husband who could speak Vietnamese. She even told my husband to write a good review! The pros of this apartment is the location. It is situated close to Ben Thanh Market and there are many restaurants and spas. If you are satisfied with the very basics and do not mind low maintenance and no staff presence, then maybe this place is for you. Also, a side note; there is no lift so you need to carry your luggage up a flight of stairs. This apartment would have scored higher if not for the persistant ant problem and lack of...

Convenient location, & I could walk anywhere I wanted to to explore. Tucked away in a back alley off a busy main road. The back alley is a residential area & I didn't feel unsafe walking back at night. The neighbour directly opposite has 4 dogs which are friendly & adorable (they might jump on you, but I only encountered them once in the 4D3N I stayed)
Super affordable, clean & hygienic. Fairly spacious room (compared to what I remember of HCMC accommodation from 9 years ago).
Mattress is hard (great for my terrible back) & pillow is fluffy - I slept super well all nights.
Air-conditioning is strong & cools the room down very quickly. There is also a wall fan available for use.
Toiletries & bath supplies provided: Shampoo & shower gel (in medium-sized pump bottles), 2x toothbrushes, a large tube of toothpaste, 1x razor. Ample toilet paper.
Shower water pressure is good, & hot/warm water is consistently available. The water on the floor dries up really quickly as the drainage system is good.
Wall charger comes with a multiplug universal adapter, which is super appreciated.
Cold drinking water is available via the water dispenser in the living room (ground floor). One of the days, it was running out ~10AM as I left. By the time I returned at 6PM, it was replenished with a new refill.
Check-out is promptly at 12:00PM; there was a knock on my door at 11:58AM to remind me of this.
Payment is by cash & made after you check-in. This isn't a negative point, more like gentle reminder to have sufficient cash to pay.
My room (2B) was 3 floors up from the ground floor living room. If you want a lower floor, pls let them know in advance. Wasn't an issue for me as I only had a backpack, no...
