Tucked away in the heart of District 1, New World Hotel’s Sunday Dinner Buffet is an opulent culinary experience that feels like a weekly celebration of life’s finer pleasures. From the moment you step into their beautifully designed dining area, there’s an air of excitement and indulgence that sets the tone for the evening.
The Spread: A Symphony of Flavors
The buffet is a sprawling gastronomic playground, thoughtfully curated to cater to both traditional palates and adventurous eaters. The seafood station alone is a showstopper—a dazzling array of fresh oysters, Alaskan king crab legs, tiger prawns, and New Zealand mussels glisten on ice, practically begging for a squeeze of lemon and a dollop of cocktail sauce. Sushi and sashimi are sliced with precision and plated like works of art, with the salmon sashimi melting like butter on the tongue.
The carving station is equally impressive, showcasing succulent prime rib and a whole roasted lamb that’s expertly seasoned and cooked to perfection. Accompanying sauces—from classic red wine jus to a bold chimichurri—elevate every bite.
For those craving Vietnamese comfort food, there’s a pho station where steaming bowls of noodle soup are customized to your liking. Add fresh herbs, chilies, and a squeeze of lime for an authentic, soul-soothing experience. Western staples like creamy lobster bisque and truffle mashed potatoes share the spotlight with Asian delights such as Peking duck rolls and dim sum baskets.
Sweet Endings and Beverage Pairings
Dessert at New World’s buffet is not just an afterthought—it’s a centerpiece. A chocolate fountain flows endlessly, ready to coat strawberries, marshmallows, and cookies in molten bliss. Pastries, mousses, and tarts are delicately crafted, with the pistachio crème brûlée standing out for its subtle, nutty flavor and perfectly torched sugar crust.
The beverage options are equally diverse. Free-flow wine, beer, and soft drinks are available, but the mocktail and cocktail station is where the magic happens. Try the signature lychee martini—it’s refreshing and perfectly balanced, a great way to end your feast.
Ambiance and Service
The atmosphere is a blend of casual elegance and lively conversation, making it perfect for families, couples, or groups of friends. Service is attentive without being intrusive; plates disappear promptly, drinks are refilled before you even realize they’re empty, and every staff member wears a welcoming smile.
Value for Money
While it’s a splurge, the sheer variety and quality of the food make the price tag feel justified. New World Hotel has mastered the art of combining luxury with approachability, creating a dining experience that feels both special and comforting.

Read moreI would give this hotel zero stars if I could! I booked the Residence Club because everyone was recommended on all the review pages. Bui Le Nhu Hai confirmed that the airport pickup and the room were confirmed four days before check-in. Then, on the day of checking, while I was on a connecting flight to Ho Chi Minh City, I received a message via email and a missed call, which was forwarded to voicemail from Tran Bao Anh. She asked me to provide my credit card number and the expiry date to guarantee the pickup and the room. This was ridiculous because I was about 3 hours away from arriving in Ho Chi Minh City. I had to call the reservation department at the expensive roaming rate to sort it out. I was not happy about this. After arriving at the airport, which was the moment my nightmare instead of a vacation started. I was directed to the lounge club for check-in. I was given a room on the 11th floor, right across from a restaurant, and people could see inside the room. There was no privacy. I requested to change the room. I was offered the worst room: the electronic LED advertising panel shines directly into the room via the window. I was offered another room on the 14th floor. Although I turned on all the lights, the room was outdated and dark. The AC did not work at all. There was no cool air, and the thermostat indicated 24 degrees Celsius. I contacted the front desk, and a technician came up. He told me the AC filter was dirty, so there was no cool air. Then, he had to reset the thermostat because it did not work how it was supposed to. I thought I would have no more trouble with the room. I was wrong. I woke up at 5 AM to moan from a couple next door who were having “fun.” This was the most disgusting incident! No soundproofing whatsoever! Then I tried to take a shower in the morning, but there was no hot water. I had to contact the front desk, and they sent a technician up. It took 10 minutes for the hot water to come up to the room. I was told the hot water would take a while to come up to the shower head. I wanted to check out early and get a refund for the rest, but I thought I would give them another chance. I contacted the front desk and advised of the incidents. They agreed to change another room for me. I went to the room, and the bed headrest light on the right was burnt out! I did not work. I had run to a different hotel because I was not happy with the quality of this hotel. I was on vacation, but I felt like I paid money to get the outdated room and all the incidents that occurred. I contacted the booking agency about my nightmare. The agent contacted the hotel about refunding me the money for the rest of the stay, but the reservation department was closed. I am still waiting to see what is going on. Not only those above, but the hotel was busy and noisy. If you want to enjoy your vacation, please stay away...
