⭐☆☆☆☆ Terrible experience – I do not recommend this place to anyone.

My stay at Hahaland Homestay was one of the worst experiences I’ve had while traveling in Vietnam. Here’s why:

The room was extremely dirty and lacked basic amenities like toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, and shower gel.

When I asked about shampoo and shower gel, they told me to walk to the front desk myself to get it, with a very unwelcoming attitude. They only gave me shampoo and said “our guests don’t need shower gel because most of them are Westerners” – implying I was not the kind of guest they cared about.

When I asked for a room key to lock my door, the owner immediately demanded a deposit. I then asked if they would take responsibility if anything was stolen – and he got angry and raised his voice.

The reception area is hidden and located more than 30 meters from the entrance. I entered the parking area and couldn’t find where to check in. The owner saw me but ignored me completely.

Most power outlets in the room didn’t work, which made it impossible to charge my devices.

The water slide and zipline are poorly designed and potentially dangerous. Serious accidents could happen if you're not careful.

There’s a billiards table, but it’s old and dirty. The balls haven’t been cleaned for ages. It’s not a fun experience at all. add: when i was still half asleep in the early morning, there was a very loud noise that lasted for 3 hours and i couldn't sleep. maybe the owner wanted the guest to wake up early to check out.

❌ In conclusion: Cheap price comes with poor service. If you want to enjoy your trip to Quang Binh, please stay somewhere else. This homestay completely ruined my experience, and I strongly advise future travelers...

We only ended up staying one night, which was a shame because I’m sure in the summer it’s really nice and popular. ||||We booked a private room and didn’t know what to expect as there were limited pictures. We ended up having a 4 person dorm to ourselves. Plenty of space, dark, with a private bathroom, which was a small toilet one side then a shower and sink the other.||||It was absolutely freezing!! I feel bad as I know it’s not their fault about the weather and it being winter, but I was shivering all night. We slept in our clothes and with 2 blankets (from the other bunk as we had our own room) and was still cold. There was an air con but it wasn’t the ones that provide any heat, was just blowing cold air. Beds were hard, uncomfortable and on the smaller side. ||||It’s a wooden lodge connected to others, there’s some gaps in the wood, perhaps letting more cold air in, and as it’s thin wood separating the rooms, we could hear everything next to us, even the guy next door snoring all night! ||||The staff seemed nice and the lady who served us spoke good English. There’s a pool table which was fun, with a little bar and restaurant. There’s a huge seating area at the back, but wasn’t in use due to the rainy weather. ||||I’m sure it looks like loads of fun in the summer, being right next to the river, with a slide and big seating area. However, this was not ideal in the winter and our worst stay yet in Asia. ||||We were expecting better for a private room and it was simply just way too cold!! And we had to pay extra to...

Visited here a week ago having seen some good reviews and being intrigued about their water slide and swing etc. When we arrived, it seemed the place was totally under construction and there were workmen literally everywhere throwing planks of timber around and using noisy drills and saws and so on. The slide wasn’t in use and wasn’t offered either which was a shame as it was basically the only reason we came. Also, the bike rental / food prices here were rather high! We didn’t use these services but their price list did shock us slightly. We had initially booked a private room - which is a dorm room with two bunk beds to yourself. Pretty hard to navigate as a couple who preferably sleep together, though for the price what can you expect. There was also a tarantula residing in our room which wasn’t the most fun I’d ever had. We didn’t end up staying the night here and moved on to somewhere else unfortunately for the reasons stated above. Perhaps once the work is done it’ll be a much more pleasant place to relax and enjoy their quirky slides and additions. 2 stars because the lady who initially checked us in was quite nice! Other than that, it wasn’t great.
