If I could choose zero stars I would.
The Adelaide aquatic centre today was a dive. Probably the most outdated, filthiest pool I’ve ever been to. Can’t believe I drove an hour each way for such disappointment.
The most disturbing thing was mould. All over the place and in vast sections. There is glass type panelling inside the main foyer and every inch is covered in green mould. The walls too. Why hasn’t this been addressed?!
Then there is the cooling system, which is on the ceiling but you can see inside it. Again mould galore. My sons and I were literally holding our breath.
It looked as if the grandstands hadn’t been cleaned in forever and it was the only place I could sit. Not only was it all wet but there was food scraps, crumbs and hair - yes hair - everywhere. I struggled to find anywhere sanitary to sit. I don’t care for possible excuses such as ‘it’s school holidays’. A public venue like this needs taking care of, regardless of patron numbers.
The cafe was overpriced and the service deplorable. We shared a hot chips but my gosh they were foul.
As for the change rooms, yikes. Besides having so much wasted space, it was near impossible to squeeze into the toilet cubicle without my legs rubbing against the toilet. Yuck!
The pool was filthy and dirt could be seen all over the bottom. Not to mention that so many areas were closed and there was literally nothing to do for people who aren’t toddlers.
It really was such a let down. I just hope we don’t get sick. The mould is what bothers me the most. How have they not been picked up on it? There was so much of it! Surely a major health hazard!
Obviously cleaners aren’t doing their job. However, management should be stepping up and seeing to it that things are attended to. There is no excuse when it comes to public safety. Obligation and duty of care come to mind.
Utterly disgusting and we won’t be back. The government needs to fund repairs and urgently! Clearly there is a need for it to be there for Adelaide folk, so they should inject money into fixing...

Read moreAs someone who has been coming here my entire life, I can honestly say, we have both definitely made changes throughout the years, most of which, have now proved to be better. Swaping out from the childrens poolside, most of the fake garden greenery with fake moss rocks, and replacing with modern kids, water play equipment and interactive features. Far better now! And as most other kids who grew up in Adelaide will tell you, having a genuine water fall flowing down from above their head whilst swimming in the larger of the play pools will be a memory they never forget! One of my favourite things about this place which still today remains exactly the same, is the way they have blended the indoor pool experience with the refreshing, so close and convenient, outdoor pool side experience. Large glass doors either sliding or folding open wide to allow both pleasures to easily take place. And everything you want or need a pool to have, they've got it, plus more. Lap size pool, kids slide, Sauna/steam room, and more than 1 large spa. Also with a gym on site, aswell as a decent size cafe/eating area that provides all essentials and that little bit more. The only thing I would say could certainly do with some more improvements, would simply be the size and layout of the carpark, it can feel very over crowded and quite tight. Having that being said, it's now something to expect in a small city. You could always park elsewhere and hope on an e-scooter and avoid the carparking altogether, this place is still within city offskirts making it an easy public transport option for everyone, train, bus or tram. It's a great place, with everything on offer for the entire family, not...
