I used to take my 2 and 4 year old once a week into toyworld in the city. Today my kids and I went into the store to look for something for their birthdays, until the rude male sales assistant shouted at my 4 year old son and said " Hey mate put that back or you'll break it!". This obviously upset my son who came upto me and my daughter crying when we were in the next isle when I heard and saw this male store assistant. When I asked my son in a gentle and soft voice what had happened, he told me that was playing with the baby(small sized) skate board wheels with his finger not even standing on it. As a parent and someone who has worked in retail let me just say one thing. That is not the way to talk to the customer, let alone a 4 year old boy who's Father was going to spend a fair bit of money for both of his kids who's birthdays are 4 days apart from each other. All the times we have been there my kids have played and put back in the right place or shelf where the item/s belong before leaving the shop, nor have they broken anything. I'm pretty sure that it's going to be pretty hard to break a skateboard with your fingers by a 4 year old. Unless you have kid's or love kids, don't work in a kid environment shop mate! And if one of my kids did accidentally break something, with my integrity and honesty and a substantial bank account and lots of surveillance cameras around, I guarantee you champ that I will pay for it, though I'm sure that the store would have some kind of insurance which covers theft, damages and credit returns. So in saying this, we will not shop at your store ever again and will let my family and friends know not to shop there either. P.s So the kids and I went one level down to the National Geographic Store who let my kids and other kids become hands on and interact with thier merchandise. And I spent more than $400 there and my kids left with a smile...
Read moreI've always enjoyed shopping at Toyworld, especially for Smiskis, but today's visit was upsetting. My friend and I were immediately confronted by a staff member who told us to leave, mistaking us for a group of other Asian customers who had apparently been asked to leave earlier. We were confused, as we were just there to buy a birthday gift.
When we tried to explain it was our first time in the store that day, she initially refused to listen. Eventually, she seemed to realize we weren't the same people, but instead of apologizing, she kept a commanding tone and told us to shop. At the checkout, she continued to be rude, asking us abruptly what we wanted when we were simply trying to pay.
Throughout this, we remained calm and even apologized for the misunderstanding on behalf of the other group, whom we didn't know. Despite this, she continued to provide poor customer service. While I understand that some young people may cause trouble, it doesn't excuse the way we were treated, especially since we had done nothing wrong in the store. The lack of accountability was really...
Read moreI visited the Toyworld in the Myer Centre, Adelaide very regularly, at times once a week. The Customer service from Simon and his staff is exceptional. I have 10 little people to buy for and I would never shop for Gifts & Toys anywhere else. The Age group I buy for is between 3 years old, up to 13 years. There is something for everyone. Toys, Games, Jewellery, Play doh, Lego, the list goes on and on. You will receive the best of Service and advice on any thing you may be interested in. The Toyworld Adelaide is second to none. It's like walking into a massive toy shop. You & the kiddies could spend, hours & hours just looking at all the merchandise. Simon and his team have the attitude of "Pleasing you is Important" Very rare in this day and age. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. I hope I can buy from Toyworld by Simon for many years to come. A big, big thankyou for the best Service, Help,...
