Mr. Viet is hands down one of my favourite spots in Adelaide - a hidden gem that consistently delivers some of the best Vietnamese food I’ve had in Australia. Every time I’m in town, I make it a point to stop by at least once, and the experience is always worth it.

Their pho is the real star - deeply aromatic broth, perfectly cooked rice noodles, and tender slices of beef or chicken that melt in your mouth. The flavours are rich, balanced, and authentic — comfort in a bowl that feels like it’s been simmered for hours with care. The portion sizes are generous, and they don’t skimp on the fresh herbs and accompaniments.

Another must-try is their Vietnamese iced coffee. It’s strong, smooth, and beautifully sweetened with condensed milk — the perfect pick-me-up. The coffee has that bold, robust edge that Vietnamese brews are known for, and it’s served icy cold, just the way it should be.

The atmosphere at Mr. Viet is casual and welcoming, with quick service and a genuine warmth from the staff. Whether you’re dining in or grabbing something on the go, they make the experience effortless and satisfying.

From the first sip of iced coffee to the last spoonful of pho, Mr. Viet is consistently spot on. If you’re in Adelaide and craving authentic Vietnamese flavours, this place is a must-visit — humble, hearty, and always hitting the...

This was by far the worst dining experience and service I’ve ever encountered. I ordered a roll mi combination. It wasn’t during the lunch rush — I was the only customer there. What was ridiculous was that after I placed my order, I expected the staff member to start preparing my food right away. Instead, she began restocking drinks into the fridge and wiping down surfaces, completely ignoring my bun roll. I found it very strange because there were no other customers placing orders at the time. Why was I left waiting for nearly ten minutes? When I finally asked how much longer it would take, she reluctantly stopped tidying up and, without even changing her gloves, started making my food. It took her less than a minute to prepare the roll. The taste was acceptable, but there was very little meat — despite ordering a combination, the roll was mostly stuffed with shredded carrots and other vegetables. I simply cannot understand the mindset of ignoring a waiting customer just to do cleaning chores. Overall, it was a terrible dining experience. I definitely do not...

IN SHORT: "The most authentic Vietnamese food I've ever had plus excelent customer service and price makes this place the ideal spot if you crave a bit of Viet."

If I'd ever been to Vietnam, I'd probably tell you that Mr Viet is the closest you can get to authentic Vietnamese in Adelaide. At least, that's what it feels like.

The food is so nice, fresh and well presented and the soup's broth is absolutely packed with flavor. You can feel it all being a step above other competitors like Soonta or Miss Mai. The only item missing from their menu was a nice Bahn Mi.

The service was top notch too. The staff happily familiarised me with their menu and tried their best to make my experience an enjoyable one which they succeeded. The price was more than reasonable too. I got a full sized noodle soup bowl, spring roll and iced coffee for 14 bucks. I couldnt even finish it all!

Will be happy to come back...

I’ve been eating brunch/lunch here nearly every day for several years now, so I figure it’s time to post a review! The fact that I’m such a frequent customer says volumes in itself - here’s a few of the reasons: the food is always super fresh, good range of options, and as close to authentic as you might hope to find in a CBD cafe (I think it aligns fairly well with cuisine from Vung Tau region in Vietnam). I think I’ve tried and enjoyed everything on offer across the menu (except the spicy items, but other customers seem to really enjoy those too). As a frequent customer, I’ve had a chance to observe how the team here behaves. The owners are incredibly personable, even when super busy at lunch times, and this attitude flows through to all the staff. They try *very* hard to learn their customers’ names, and I’m amazed how well they succeed with this, with many customers greeted by name as soon as they arrive.
