What a fantastic company to enjoy a whale shark tour with. Picked up from our hotel, moved across to the boat & during both transfers everything that will happen on the day was explained both in the shuttle & on the boat. The only way that you could not know what was happening was if your ears fell off! These guys are thorough with the explanations.
Ben was our boat captain, Jade was in charge of Neville the mini tender & chasing us all around to ensure our safety in the water. Molly was fantastic with photography & you were told regularly how to get a photo with the whale shark so you had that reminder fresh each swim.
We had 4 swims with the whale shark & a free snorkel in 2 different locations of the lagoon. Neev, Jess & Isla were with us for the day & you had guides in snorkelling with you. They regularly checked on you if you looked lost & always there to help.
Morning & afternoon tea was provided plus a superb spread for lunch. Fresh tasty salads, chicken, ham etc Honestly heaps of food. Beer, wine or a soft drink with lunch. Fresh water on hand to stay hydrated. Honestly the best lunch we have had on a boat tour in any country. Even if it shop bought the actual choices were fantastic.
Plenty of room around the boat to move & up on the front to check out the views. We saw a turtle, dugongs & sting rays from up there!
You get the choice of a stinger suit or wetsuit. They arent super thick wetsuits so easier to snorkel in but after been in 7mm wetsuits for our last 2 trips in colder weather I opted for a stinger suit to keep the sunburn at bay. The wind can be chilly when getting out but the water was beautiful. Probably around the 26 to 28C and we were out there on the 25th May.
Our only suggestion would be to maybe have some merchandise on the boat. Even if it was just the drink coolers especially as we had cold drinks to enjoy! Tho we understand accessing an eftpos machine would be difficult to manage on the way around. But anyway we had the time so dropped into the office for a look bc we love a shirt to advertise a great trip when we get home but also magnets & coolers as a momento.
100% be telling our friends about 3 Islands Whale Shark Tours . These are a mix of Mollys photos & stillshots...

A Truly Unforgettable Day with 3 Islands Whale Shark Dive
From the moment we were picked up from our hotel to the moment we returned, we had an absolutely fabulous day. On our bus ride to the boat, the two friendly and knowledgeable staff members made us feel instantly welcome. They explained how the day would unfold and shared fascinating information about the places we passed along the way.
Once on the water, everything exceeded our expectations. We were lucky enough to see and swim with whale sharks, spot humpback whales, and even have turtles glide past our boat. During our two snorkels, we were surrounded by a dazzling array of colourful tropical fish.
A special mention goes to the professional photographer on board, who went above and beyond to ensure everyone was included in the photos—both on deck and in the water. To top it off, all the beautiful images were ready for us to download the very next day.
Even though we had been told we might not see any whale sharks this late in the season, we were thrilled to enjoy three incredible swims alongside these gentle giants. The crew managed each swim with such skill that everyone had a comfortable, safe, and memorable experience.
The boat was spacious and comfortable, with safety clearly a top priority. Morning tea, lunch, and afternoon refreshments were plentiful and delicious.
What truly made the day exceptional was the outstanding crew. The 3 Islands team worked seamlessly together, and nothing was too much trouble. Every member of the crew made a point of checking in with me and my husband at some stage during the day, adding a wonderfully personal touch to an already perfect experience.
I cannot recommend 3 Islands Whale Shark Dive highly enough to anyone visiting the area. This is a must-do experience that delivers on...

We had a whale shark dive planned but were unfortunate to be in Exmouth the only awful day of winter ;-). The team however decided to give it a try, whereas other tour operators cancelled the night before or the same morning. The crew still showed optimism and enthusiasm, to not ruin the holiday spirit us tourists were in. They managed our expectations well by highlighting the difficulty the spotter plane might have in that kind of weather; we knew from the start that it was not very likely we would see a whale shark.
Hannah’s valuable knowledge of the area brought us in the Ningaloo vibe as from the moment we boarded the bus. Annabel & Seb made sure we were safely brought to and in the boat and welcomed us warmly. Our skipper did an amazing job in bringing us to a fantastic snorkel spot, showing us dugongs, rays and last but not least: was able to show us some humpback whale magic! He navigated the waves perfectly for us to be able to give us a whale experience, although not the ones we were hoping for, it was a perfect close encounter, way better than some whale watching tours we’ve done before! Last but not least, AJ made sure we all got pictures of the memorable day; such an added value that you don’t need to worry about getting a shot but can truly enjoy the experience.
We leave Exmouth without having seen a whale shark but with a true example of customer centricity and a crew passionate for their job and the tourists they...
