Having looked at the website and descriptions of the dives offered we booked a double dive to Muiron islands. First thing was the dive boat shown on the website is NOT the dive boat they operated. If the engine fumes flowing into the dive deck for the hour trip to the island doesnt poison you, give you headaches or make you sick, the old compressor running all day at over 90dB on the dive deck will render you with hearing loss. The advertised onboard bbq lunch comprised of just enough sausages for one each for the paying guests, (except for the Captain who had no issues helping himself to 3 before retreating back) a bread roll, and an attempted thai salad and green salad. On the topic of the captain, we we not introduced to him once on board, or at any time during the day, but advised during the safety briefing that he doesn't come down from the top deck so if you want to speak to him, you need to go upstairs and do it. WTH !!!! On completion of the double dives, I asked a dive guide when would you like to know if we are actually certified because nobody has asked us yet. This is a serious breach of safety protocol for any dive operator.
Completed two dives, both were enjoyable although not a single dive site brief qas procided on either of them, but whatever they were called they were well worth the experience although shocked and disapointed to see the captain felt it necessary to drop the anchor onto the coral reef, once decended to the anchor to see it had broken multiple plate corals, tore through prestine coral bunchs and the anchor chain was dragging over the reef just completely ripping away anything in its path. There was absolutely no regard whatsoever for preserving the reef by this operator or responsibility to anchor away from the coral.
On a positive side, the dives were great, the dive guides were reasonable and friendly but having dived all over Austalia and many other countries, this had been one of, if not the poorest experience in my 20+ years and 800+logged dives. Find and operator that values the reef, and your business. Given the way we were treated i can only assume the captain doesn't own the business ,if that's the case, the owner should...
Read moreI went on the Marion Island tour. Before the tour started, the tour operator informed us about rough sea conditions and advised us to take medication for seasickness. Unfortunately, I had run out of medication that morning, so I asked the tour operator if they had any available. I was informed that they didn't provide medication, but they assured me it wouldn't be too bad. However, the conditions turned out to be quite severe, and I was advised to stand at the back of the boat. To make matters worse, both engines were emitting a significant amount of smoke, making me even more nauseous from the smell. The boat barely had enough seats for all the divers, and I couldn't find a quiet spot. I was constantly in the way of others and had to keep moving. Moreover, they didn't offered any tea or coffee but only Exmouth tab water, which is drinkable but tastes anything but good. When we finally reached the dive site, the swell was so intense that even at a depth of 12 meters, we were being pushed several meters back and forth. I struggled to fight the urge to vomit but managed to hold it in until we surfaced after a short 35-minute dive. Once back on board, I found a spot on the ground where I could sit without being asked to move again. The dive guides were great in this situation and offered me their jackets when I was shivering from the cold. As a result, I wasn't in any condition to eat the lunch provided or participate in the second dive.
The next day, I went to the office to request a voucher for the dive I missed. However, I was told that they don't offer any refunds for seasickness. I had never experienced a dive shop that didn't provide medication for seasickness, nor had I been charged for a dive I couldn't complete. At the very least, I expected to receive a voucher, even though as a backpacker, I probably wouldn't have the opportunity to use it.
Charging the full $270 for only 35 minutes of diving is not customer-friendly. Nevertheless, the dive guides did their best and performed fairly well. I give them an extra star for...
Read moreI honestly was lost for words at how amazing this crew and company were. My family and I went up to exmouth around July 2020, we are all advanced divers and some of us have already done some of the sites.
This time we did the Muiron Islands and Navy Pier. We brought our own gear and off we went to the first dive (Muiron) Because we had a big group, we ended up having a guide all to ourselves. Everything was alright until we jumped to the water and suddenly my bcd failed. At the time I didnt understand what was happening and why I couldn't make my way to the front of the boat. At first I thought it was just due to the strong waves pushing me under a bit or maybe I'm out of shape. It wasn't until we started going down that I realised there was something wrong with my bcd. I started panicking and swimming up immediately. Our guide came with me to check on me and tried slowly having me come down again, we tried a second time and I still felt like something was wrong and panicked. Ended up swimming back to the boat and missed the first dive.
After some inspection we figured out my bcd inner lining was ripped so when in water, the air didnt distribute evenly and would trap air. So while I tried pumping more air into it, it would seem "full" but wasn't, and the uneven-ness gave me a tilt in buoyancy which made swimming/movements restrictive.
This was the first time I had equipment fail on me. It scared me sh*tless and I honestly thought I won't be able to do the second dive. But the amazing crew and guide of Dive Ningaloo set me up with thier gear, they listened to my fears and understood it. They took the time to slowly go down with me on the second dive and gave me so much support. I managed to do the second dive of the day and few days later, came back and did the navy pier.
Thank you so much for your amazing guidance and support, for taking the time and effort to make sure I have the confidence to be able to dive.
My family and I will definitely book again next time we come...
