Woolstores — Local services in Fremantle

Lovely old building will be ashamed to see it go along with the rest of the old wool stores. Being a country boy I grew up on the farm. I even shaw sheep all over this great country. I have seen a working double bail wool press for shipping bails over seas. Locked away in pristine condition in the final step before loading. In th original position only a block away from the shopping center which is a valuable historical place for the country's most valuable historic commodity of the hard working class people of the sheep industry. I would like to see these small portions of history should be turned into a working museum of sorts. For example: I grew up in a country NSW town called Hay. The town has transported 3 shearing sheads & opened a museum. Which is popular for a town in the middle of nowhere. In a city like Fremantle the opportunity is open for a industry which is struggling. You could have the whole display from the sheep's back ( shearing, both blade & machine, history & evolution of the hand peace, roustabout jobs, wool classing demonstration , wool pressing , with historic hand to machine. Even fine dining of food cooking in the shearing shead from killing to cooking sheep with different styles from meat safes to kero lanterns & fridges, history of the shearer's cook. Tourists...

WORST Company I have EVER EVER EVER had the displeasure of NOT dealing with. Today I have left SIX voicemails and sent TWO emails -trying to get intouch with woolstores. JUST DISGUSTING not a single returned message. Appaling. I could only imagine what renting a space off this company must be like to deal with!!! TERIBBLE!! Feel sorry for every single vendor in this place. I normally do my grocery shopping at coles in woolstores. I love old buildings because of the history they tell of another time. Fremantle Woolstores Shopping Centre caught my eyes when we visited Fremantle yesterday and parked at Wilson Parking just across the road. Fremantle Woolstores were at least 4 large heritage buildings built in 1923, and reborn  few years ago as apartment. I love the original exposed brickwork and warehouse-style framed windows.
